In the business, where the primary goal is making a profit, for which the competition and profitability are important, the main goal will be to strategize your business differently from the nonprofit organizations. Also, the objectives for your business divisions will have a different context from the goals for your organization as a whole. Based on the extent and status of the business, the primary goal is to develop strategies to: • Increase profitability • Gain more market share • Increase approval ratings, or boost customer satisfaction • Complete a project under budget Follow the guidelines outlined below in order to establish a successful strategy: • Analyze the environment in which is the company is being operated, and establish a clear mission, as well as goals for the organization • Fully understand the internal and external environmental factors that affect the business • Develop a tactical plan to implement the strategies • Control the strategy after actual implementation With that understanding, categorize the advantages and disadvantages, then develop strengths from weaknesses and opportunities from threats, while using the two categories. The following strategies are recommended for Custom Coffee & Chocolate, to help develop a successful strategy; Establish a clear, concise, and attractive expression of the purpose of “Custom Coffee & Chocolate," such as: “Our mission is to make a home away from home, where customers indulge in their love of good coffee and fine chocolate in a relaxing atmosphere.” In my SWOT analysis of this business, my opinion that the most negative factor against the success of the coffee shop is attracting new customers and keeping them. For that reason, I suggest: • Host a grand opening event and invite faculty staff, students, and residents nearby, so they know that the business exist and most
