It has a polyrhythmic texture - lots of different rhythms are being played at the same time. Melody: Capercaillie - Skye Waulking Song is taken from a traditional type of chant the women sang while waulking (which is a kind of clothmaking). They would sing songs to pass the time. Originally this folksong would have been an unaccompanied melody and this was changed by Capercaillie when they added music to it. The melodic lines are played in the folk style and the instruments improvise around the melody at the same time.
This method is when the artist takes scraps or leftovers from other materials or projects and puts them on their sculpture. The Katsina is constructed of many different objects that make it become a whole and to look just as Garcia had planned. Some of the objects used were cat whiskers, feathers, yarn, toothpicks, and leather. Katsina has some great composition that Garcia expresses very adequately.

Lowell Lieberman performance was very captivating through his exhibition of passion throughout his musical circles. Throughout his musical performance, Liebermann makes imaginative use of rich and varied harmonic rhythm. His performance shows a classical theme from the beginning to the end. The mood in Lieberman music made the entire room gloomy whiles the melodic lines made the room flowing, the rich harmonies in his music made the room surprisingly striking.

The exhibit itself was called Rugs to Riches and displayed various tapestries that had been donated to the museum over the years. The one that impressed me the most was a French Tapestry done by Jean Jans in France 1668-1723. It was on wool with silk highlights. The size of the tapestry itself was impressive; rectangular in size it probably easily measured 15’x20’. I learned that this and other tapestries during this time would have been hung on the walls to retain heat.
