Cross culture marriage refers to marriage between individuals from different cultures. Some people believe that marrying a person from a different culture is exiting since you get to learn so many things that you did not know they exist. The truth of the matter is that this kind of marriage can be very challenging. This has led to my thesis statement that cross culture marriage is not only challenging but also the cause of many marriage breakups in the world today. Marrying someone from a different culture is definitely not the same as marrying someone from your own culture. People argue that love is blind but as much as this may be the case those contemplating marrying individuals whose ancestry is different should be ready to fight a very tough battle. Most of these marriages are based on assumption that the other partner will significantly change just because of your charming influence or relationship. This believe is the beginning of trouble in this kind of marriage because as much as there is cross polarization occur between two individuals who have an intimate relationship, conflicts will always be there and will often be as a result of simplest and most unexpected reasons. As much as individuals may be liberal and open minded, they will occasionally display bigoted opinion regarding certain issues. Many people mistakenly get married to individuals of different cultures without taking time to understand the prevalent social attitude and common prejudices of their spouse's culture.
