Critique on P&G commercial thank you mom,the hardest and the best job I have been searching for the “best advertisement”, “most touching commercial” throughout my weekends, watching around 30 advertisements but still couldn’t find one that really touched my heart and left a deep impression. But when I roll down the YouTube page, I saw a commercial from Procter&Gamble, which is a company selling beauty, grooming, health, well-being and household care products, having 573,388 views. After watching this 2:03 minutes long commercial, I would like to analyze the reason why it earned so many views and hits. The advertisement has released on the 18th April in 2012, which is before the London 2012 Olympics game happen and that is the Mother’s Day, it shows the stories behind 4 Olympians and their mothers. This advertisement is trying to promote P&G’s sponsorship to the Olympic games and their thankfulness towards mothers. What is the hardest job in the world? How about the best job in the world? Many graduates and people in their 30’s desire to work at Google or international companies in which they have an excessively high salary as well as favorable welfare, they claim that to be the best job. But is that really the finest job in the world? Is that really what they covet for? Have they thought of the difficulties when working in such a company? P&G considers mother as the hardest and best job in the world. The TV advertisement tells the audience to have gratitude towards their mother as they have maid lots of effort and time to train us to be a son or daughter that they are proud of. Many people assume that being a mother is an accessible task, as they barely have to do domestic work, taking care of their child, that’s it.
