Given the importance of the housing issue to the service user, I had to be aware of how I spoke with him by using sensitive language and showing concern but also through trying to get the important issues across (Thompson, 2002). I took a notepad and pen into the interview with a view to record what was
1.1- Continually improving knowledge and practice is imperative in order to ensure high standards are kept as circumstances, expectations and environments change. Continually improving and adapting practices benefits both residents and carers ensuring that each individuals needs are catered for. 1.2- The potential barriers to professional development are unwillingness to learn new skills for fear of failure or fear of technology. Some of the factors that will determine information accuracy involve careful direct observation of users. While interviewing can be helpful, “it involves getting people to recall and convey information they have about organizational processes and the information systems that support them.” (University of Phoenix, 2012) Because so many disconnects exist at Riordan, it is important to sit with each user managing excel spreadsheets to understand and accurately determine what the best approach will be for providing a better, more effective user friendly system. In conjunction with observation, asking the right questions will also make a difference. Closed ended question may have their place, but in situations where a new system is being developed, closed ended questions tend to limit the accuracy of the users response. Closed ended questions limit the user’s ability to provide detail in their answer as these are usually multiple choices, true or false, or function on a rating system.
ALLUSIONS IN FAHRENHEIT 451 Literary allusions often are used to relate a novel to various other pieces of literary work. Ray Bradbury used a multitude of literary allusions to enrich the plotline of Fahrenheit 451. These references provided subtle hints of depth in the novel to the reader. Some allusions helped the novel by adding to the plot, providing a relatable experience to the reader, referencing familiar stories and fables, and giving characters and settings that special something called an “it factor” that the reader could find special. Some allusions, however, were harmful to the plot or to the reader, most often by confusing the reader if they did not know the context of the original quotation.
(1.2) Planning is essential to any job you could possibly be in. A plan details exactly what needs to be done and simplifies the end goal. Another reason why planning is so essential is that it can account how long you are spending on different areas of your work allowing you to meet any potential deadlines. I need to be accountable for my own work so I am seen to be doing my job effectively How do you agree realistic targets for your work and why is it beneficial and important to do so? (1.3, 1.4) To agree realistic targets you should sit down with your direct superior and discuss areas where you can improve.

While in the work place I often experience many challenges, by taking a step back and evaluating the situation, my actions and experience I can make informed choices that can help me to perform in a caring productive way. When taking part in reflective practice you have to be open, honest, and non defensive, you have to think that by doing something different is not the same as doing something better. You need to ask yourself questions such as, how did I work? , Did I use my knowledge of the service user in the decision-making? , Were personal values involved?
Her feelings towards her identity are influenced very much by those around her. She develops and holds to a negative self-concept because of the behaviors and actions of some of her peers. She has a difficult time understanding any dissatisfaction in the lives of others who are normal, because as she explains, only on Halloween night, while wearing a mask, was she “breathing in normalcy”. “The ‘F’ Word”, written by Firoozeh Dumas, is an essay that talks about the name and ethnicity the author was born with. She talks about the treatment she endured because of her
Point of View Reflection Point of view is the position a situation is viewed from in a story. Point of view is important to the overall story by giving a reader a chance to relate to one or more characters throughout the story. Point of view gives a reader insight into the decisions that characters make that they may not have had without the perspective point of view offers. One example of how point of view affects a story is found in This is a Book by Demetri Martin, in the chapter The Beesting, where the same situation of a girl being stung by a bee is repeated multiple times in different points of view, going from the girl, to the bee, to the magazine, to the cell phone the girl was talking on, and so forth. With the multiple retellings, point of view takes this short simple story and gives it more detail and insight into what was really going on.
All authors write with an intended purpose; to entertain, persuade, inform, express etc. knowledge is gained from texts that inform us, theses text though can be valuable and enlightening, but can also be deceptive and untrustworthy. Through what we are reading the author has the ability to manipulate the information within the text to suit the preferred perspective. For this reason it is important that we develop a critical lens to challenge the multiple messages within those texts. This requires the readers to be able to analyse beneath the surface of the text rather than simply accepting and following the author's perspective.
