“All species capable of grasping this fact manage better in the struggle for existence than those which rely upon their own strength alone: The wolf, which hunts in a pack, has a greater chance of survival then the lion, which hunts alone.”   This quote was once said by Christian Lous Lange, and he means that if you work together in times of survival, you will achieve more than if you work alone. The wolf that works in the pack will be able to obtain more food than the lion that is hunting by itself. Also when you have people around you, they have your back and are able to support you if you make a mistake; that’s what teams are for: you win as a team and you lose as a team. I would agree with this quote, because there are always certain situations in life that you need people to talk to. For example, your parents will always be by your side in your little pack. If you’re having trouble with something they will always give out a helping hand and pick you up, that’s what a team is for. Also in baseball, you’re pitching and you give up five runs, here comes your team to pick you up and help you out. In life you need to be in a pack to survive; which is how you will get through it. In the literature pieces I Am Number Four, by Pittacus Lore and The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins, both show how working in a pack or group helps you survive.
In I Am Number Four, by Pittacus Lore, John, and Henri were facing a “Man vs. Man conflict.” The Mogadorians found John and Henri and were on Earth to finish them off. After Henri died, John was on his own with two, basically useless humans since they couldn’t really fight the Mogadorians.   The clock was running out and John was fighting by himself, until Number Six shows up. John and Number Six begin to work as a team and began to fend off the Mogadorians.
