Crime Story I remember that night so clearly... It was a cold rainy stormy night… but I had to go… I knew that Jo was going to meet this mysterious man that they have been talking about all month. I overheard the boss, last night as I was leaving, saying that “tomorrow is the night, Jo. Make sure you go prepared”. So here I was waiting. All ragged up in my big long black coat hiding around the corner. I could see the bridge but no sign of Jo and his “date”. It didn’t matter… it was still early the big tower clock had only sounded 12 midnight a few minutes ago. “What’s that? “I can see lights coming this way!” Jo’s car had just stopped a few meters away. I could see his slender black figure cautiously getting out of the car. There was still no one else in the horizon. Has he been stood up? Or maybe this “mysterious man” is late?…show more content…
He was holding something that looked like a briefcase. It was small and metallic looking. Whatever it was inside, Jo was keeping it safe from the rain. Maybe this mystery man would come to pick up this briefcase. But who is he and why? I remember thinking... what is that up ahead? And a few seconds later a black vehicle headed our direction driving dangerously fast. It sped up and headed straight for Jo. “JO!” I screamed at the top of my lungs. He quickly turned to see me. “Get out of the way Jo!” I screamed. He turned back and saw the vehicle. The headlines were blinding his eyes. Too startled to move he stood frozen, the briefcase still in his hands, holding on to it. I ran as fast as I could to get him out of the way. But I was too late.
