Poverty may mean that crime is the only way that the working class can survive, as crime may e the only way that they can obtain the consumer goods encouraged by the capitalist advertising, resulting in utilitarian crimes such as theft. However, it isn’t always utilitarian crime that the working class commit as sometimes the alienation and lack of control over their lives may lead to frustration and aggression which results in non-utilitarian crimes such as vandalism and violence. Marxist’s sometimes argue the state and law-making are a cause of crime because they believe that all laws serve the ruling class, most law is based on protecting private property. The crimes of the working class and ethnic minorities are punished harshly while crimes of the powerful go unnoticed. The ruling class also have the power to prevent the introduction of laws that would threaten their interests.
But in contrast there are very different at the same time. The crime control model is used in the criminal justice system for the prevention of crime. The crime control does not exclude that is possible to make a mistake, but based on the circumstances of the laws, the person is considered guilty until her or she is proven innocent. This model is based on old fashion laws which allow rapid and speedy convictions despite the mitigating factors of the case and the victim. The results, of the crime control model are wrongful convictions, being over-turned and this is a major downfall in the criminal justice system.
People who are already wealthy and commit white-collar crimes should not be let off easily. They hurt innocent peoples pockets while pocketing money for themselves. Prison time is like a death sentence to those who grew up having everything they ever wanted. Once people become greedy and start committing crimes like Martha Stewart then they deserve to get punished for stealing money. Prison rehabilitates criminals and once freedom, money and life’s luxuries are taken away from white-collar criminals then they will learn that committing such crimes are not worth prison time.
Organized crime participants are master manipulators and can easily instill fear in the citizens within the area. This fear is often times enough to keep innocent people quiet when being questioned by law enforcement. This practice has helped organized crime not only survive but evolve within the United States. In addition, when the criminal group has the assistance of local law enforcement and judicial officials, it becomes common for a criminal case to end in a dismissal. In conclusion, it can be said that crime and politics have existed in America for decades, Money, and power are both present in crime and politics.
Organized crime groups typically bribe police and other law enforcement groups as a way of defacing the legal system in order to avoid prosecution. Huge amounts of available cash allow these groups to persuade government officials in staying out of the way, thus assisting the crime groups in reaching its goals. Bribery helps these criminal groups to avoid prosecution and in turn, the criminals are able to continue their operations, uninterrupted. Another characteristic among crime organizations is the pyramid power structure by which these organizations run. This type of structure is known as a hierarchy system.
Some of the current sources of stress for the criminal justice professional are, long hours and not enough family time with loved ones. I do believe that the agencies provide adequate assistance with managing occupational stressors; they are just not explored and used enough by the individuals that need them. I believe the politics of corruption exists within the field of criminal justice. I say that because it seems that if you are wealthy strings can be pulled for you and u can afford the best lawyers, and u could be guilty but you will get off because you or your family are well off. On the other hand there that middle class of poor that knows nothing about the system or doesn’t have the resources to get a good lawyer they are screwed completely ruin your life and affecting some people around you.
The Obama Administration tried its best to benefit the people and help them in ways that were never thought possible. Even though some of the contributions that the administration made were not helpful or were just wrong, the president was able to use the kindness of his heart to truly heat the people day in and day out. No one is able to truly intrigue everyone, but Hamilton’s scandal truly effected most of the population drastically (unless they were one to be the one getting money from the bonds). Many resorted to lives of crime because they thought they had no other option or thought it was a better way to make money then an honest job. Others adored and idolized these outlaws, thinking they were heroes.
