EVOLUTION REVEALS THE TRUTHS Evolution is a debatable issue and it will be argued for many years, because it is in contradiction with creationism. Evolution explains that all living creatures come from same ancestors and evolutionary change leads to new species. These species should be the fittest for the surroundings to survive and they continue to mutate. It is life or death struggle. However, creationism says that the world and living things was created by God.
Many cultures believed that gods or goddesses created life. For example within the Christian religious tradition, it is believed that organisms were created by an almighty god. Due to the lack of scientific material, scientists are unable to test this theory of life, leading them to seek answers from a naturalist explanation. Up until the mid- nineteenth century, naturalists held onto the idea of spontaneous generation. This theory suggested that life was created out of nothing.
However, since creationism lacks scientific evidence and the First Amendment prohibits it, it should not be taught in school, but rather in places such as church or religion
The development of Intelligent Design is rooted in the political arena rather than scientific endeavor. Even with given modern scientific advances, teaching evolutionary theory in public schools is still infamously controversial. The main argument stems from contradictions to long-held interpretations of man’s creation in the Book of Genesis and the views of Protestant fundamentalists in the legislative branches of government (Lugg and Robinson). After years of legislative and legal debate, the courts ultimately ruled the state could not extract a scientific theory from school curriculums because of the theory’s apparent contradiction to religious doctrine (Lugg and
As we see in this segment of Document 6 “Reason is in the estimation of the philosopher what grace is to the Christian. Grace determines the Christian's action; reason the philosopher's.” the philosophers of the Enlightenment strove to explain everything by means of logic and reason which was a mindset that was pioneered during the Scientific Revolution. Essentially, Enlightenment thinkers took the rational mindset from scientific discoveries of the Scientific Revolution and began to apply it to society. Isaac Newton's discoveries established the principles of the Enlightenment. At the time, discovery was looked at with skepticism as people had become accustomed to the bible being the only source of information about the world.
There are more than seven billion people on our planet and each individual has a different belief, but why is it that faith as an individual is such a controversial topic? Why can’t faith be used as a basis of knowledge? The answer is more difficult then it may seem, some people believe that faith cannot be used as the basis to get knowledge simply because there is no sustantial evidence of explaining it, because it cannot be shown, therefore a fallible source. For that reason, people choose the more scientific approach because it provides evidence. This undoubtly is the quitessential what the Natural Sciences is based upon.
Some of the concerns still creating controversy include matters dealing with how life began and evolved, relations and sex, and various research methods. Life’s beginnings and the way it evolved have two different points-of-view according to science and religion. The religious belief is the concept of creationism, that all things, including humans, were created and put on the earth by God. The scientific belief is that the universe was created by a concept called the Big Bang, which in simple terms was a giant explosion that created all of the planets, stars, living creatures, etc. Science also believes that humans were not around at the beginning of life, but that they later evolved from various animals after adapting adaptations to help better suit them to the environment.
Scientists as well as common people doubt the Bible when it comes to Noah’s Ark. They do not believe it to be possible for the Ark to have fit two of every kind as God had asked. If all of the species we have found and those that are
No one really has a definite answer to that question. Many beliefs support facts through the Bible, the Holy Qur’an, or any other holy religious book they live by. Scientists use the Charles Darwin Theory or any other scientific theory to support their beliefs. No one really has shown proof if he exists or not. Some believe in the evolution theory that science created human beings.
Charles Darwin was famous for his controversial theory that animals evolved by means of natural selection. He produced a book about his theory, implicating that humans were not especially created, but had evolved. (http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/historic_figures/darwin_charles.shtml) Darwin developed his theory of natural selection in 1837. Before this, it was generally believed that every species was specially created by God, and could not be altered. Up until his voyage on the HMS Beagle, Darwin, like all others, believed in a traditional Biblical creation of all life forms.
