Some examples are turning homework assignments in at the last minute, running late for class, and cramming for a test. As noted by Sullivan (2011), “Personal change also requires the right timing. Just because you do not understand another perspective or have not developed a particular skill, practice, or ability does not mean you never will (,p.27).” When an individual takes personal responsibility for their actions, it can help clarify which life goals are most important, and the means to achieve college success by understanding that our values support how we go about. Making decisions. Taking Responsibility for Your Own Actions To me, taking responsibility for your own action is similar to the phrase “you got to crawl before you can walk”.
Even if the lesson isn’t even difficult, teachers do indeed deserve respect for what they do. What they are teaching can very much be what you need to get that one extra point on a test to pass the class. They are there to help you succeed. If you’d rather be on your device than listen to the teacher, you don’t deserve to be in the classroom. While some teachers despise cell phone use, others let students use them to enhance a lesson.
Some students are smart and learn quickly, some are average, and some may need a little extra help. It is sometimes frustrating when teachers have a student who just cannot pick up on something being taught. That is where patience comes in. Teachers must be able to take extra time and help a student as much as they can. Both the student and teacher may become very impatient with one another.
This adds pressure to the teacher’s day as they then have to supervise them. The teacher has to ensure that they are being effectively used to enhance the learning of the student with diverse needs. Funding challenges for extra resources are another area that the teacher has to allow time for. Meeting these challenges leads to increased stress for teachers as “many mainstream teachers report that they do not have the time, training, experience; personal resources and/or access to professional development that they need to feel confident about teaching students with a disability in a mainstream class” (Shaddock., et.al, 2007). Research shows that a major concern for teachers is their lack of time for planning and the demands students with
Mr. Alessandri had us read Silence of the Lambs, Dune, and numerous short stories. I had always just read all the standard books for high school, but this was a whole new twist to reading for me. For once I truly enjoyed what I was reading. Science Fiction & Horror was no easy class, but I found myself paying full attention at all times out of sheer enjoyment of what I was hearing from my teacher. Mr. Alessandri had been teaching the class for almost thirty years so he knew the material like the back of his hand.
However, some disruptions are unpreventable and inevitable and strategies need to been in place to deal with these when they occur. One classroom condition that a teacher has no control over with the growing populations of students is large class sizes. Large classes will only add to difficulty of classroom management as there are potentially more students to create disruptions. It is the teacher’s responsibility to keep the students engaged to avoid students losing interest which could lead to misbehaviors. Spencer Kagan, Patricia Kyle, and Sally Scott provide that disruptions and misbehaviors can be prevented by, “An interesting, stimulating teacher who adapts the curriculum to student interests and needs” (Charles, 2008, p. 155).
On one side, people can improve their English Language, get a diploma, change professions, or improve careers. On the other hand, discipline, especially, in the public schools of the U.S. is a problem, and should be improved because poor discipline cannot prepare students to continue their education. Body Discipline in the public schools must take priority in the U.S. First of all, the students need to be prepared to their future lives, and good discipline in the public schools can help them to do it more easily. For example, if students will take responsibility to do their homework. Come to class on time, or follow the teachers’ instructions they are prepared to continue their education in college.
Student also needs to learn how to make friend so that he is not lonely. Too much homework will cause student to lots of time. Parents and teachers recommend that we get involved in an after school activities. After those activities finish, student have not enough time to eat, do their homework and have the right amount of time to sleep. This may cause headaches and may cause students to faint.
One reason i think a longer school day is better than having homework is because students can work harder on trying to do their work and not rush through it to get it over with so they won't have to do it for homework. Another reason i think having a longer school day would be better is because when the students need help, their teachers will be right there to help them instead of being outside the school not knowing how to do something. I also think the students will get the opportunity to play more sports, hang out with friends and do the things they love and enjoy doing. Homework doesn't have these good advantages. This is what the students would particurally like, but what about the parents?
If they get tired and sleepy then children can not function properly in school and during other lessons, like piano or math. This gives children a lot of stress that they have to finish EVERYTHING by a certain date. Some smart students may have already learned the subjects that they are doing really well and they have to do it again needlessly. I think that is why a lot of homework is a complete burden. All in all, I think that too much homework is unnecessary and a torture to so many children.
