Topic: Convenience food will become increasingly prevalent and eventually replace traditional foods and traditional methods of food preparation. At the turn of the 21st century, the world saw a sudden rise of convenience food, which is considered one of the substitutes for traditional ones. Today numerous researches are conducted in healthcare facilities to substantiate whether or not it has adverse effects on human being. A statement is made that convenience food may be unlikely to change people cooking and eating styles. First of all, many people find ready-prepared foods less delicious than traditional foods. When it comes to convenience food, its ingredients are not supposed to be fresh because it must be prepared prior to obtaining an ease of consumption. Also, to extend its expiry day, convenience food is not free from chemical food preservatives contributing to its disgusting taste and potential negative impacts on purchasers. It is very the chemicals that make consumers who are always mindful of how to have healthy balanced diet every day susceptible to some kinds of cancers. Owing to the fact, those who want to control every single nutrition in their diet would rather choose preparing foods on their own than buying ready-processed foods. Secondly, critical and fundamental to any countries in the world is their cultural characteristics, and cooking styles is one of them. Take Korean kimchi as an example. Although the oldest references to kimchi can be found from 2600 to 3000 years ago, its production method still remains unchanged, to some extent, till today. Not only does the previous generation pass on orally a detail recipe and such experiences as how to collect good vegetable ingredients to the next one, but it also conveys characters and cultural values of the whole Korean race.
