Sofia Garcia 1 Mrs. McCumber 1st Period May 20, 2015 Life Through the Eyes of Confucius The impression Confucius made on his Chinese students surely made him leave his mark on the world. Confucius was known for his popular aphorisms, and has deeply influenced the civilization of East Asia. The lessons he taught and the things he said will forever be known in the world today. Ray Bradbury mentions the intelligent philosopher Confucius in his book Fahrenheit 451 because he was a beacon to his followers. Confucius was known to be one of the cleverest and wisest people of his time, and many people followed his teachings.
Because of this and his unrelenting optimism, Franklin Roosevelt is widely regarded to be one of the greatest leaders of the United States. In his early years, he was educated by private tutors. When he turned fourteen, Roosevelt began attending Groton Preparatory School. He did not fit in well with the other students, given that many Groton students excelled in sports. FDR was simply not athletic.
People who were under him as president must have enjoyed having a loyal educated president who knew what he was doing. With his high knowledge in political philosophy, he set an example for his fellow citizens over the course of nearly half a century. He summed up the lessons he'd learned in his "Farewell Address to the People of the United States," with its central theme of union based on the primacy of the Constitution. He spoke out his theme with warnings to steer clear of sectional and political divisions. Washington also advised on foreign relations; on the role of religion, morality and education in public life; and on the need to protect public credit and stabilize commercial and manufacturing interests.

Ancient China’s Philosophies In China there were three major philosophies, which were Legalism, Daoism, and Confucianism. All of them played an important role in China. One major philosophy that came out of China was Confucianism. Confucians strongly believed in Duty, humanity, and the Filial Piety. Duty is a work ethic, it meant that you had to work hard to fulfill the duties and the affairs of society will prosper as a whole.
Qin Shi Huangdi was a cruel and hard working man his hard work did pay off, but his cruelty will never be forgotten. It is hard to decide weather Qin should be remembered because his amazing creations or more because of his cruelty, but everyone can agree that as the first emperor of that dynasty he did become one of the most important rulers in Chinas
AJ Riley Mr. Fuller English 1117 Reading and Writing Critically I 9/25/14 Wise Man Alter Weiner was just like every other kid at the age of 13. He had a normal family and a set loving parents. His real mother died at the age of 4. As he said “I don’t remember her face but my stepmother treated me and my older brother very well. She was devoted to us as she was to her own child.” Alter’s father ran a successful business that he inherited from his parents.
Alain Locke Alain Locke was an educator, philosopher, scholar and journalist who was born on September 18, 1886 into a distinguished and well known family in Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. His mother was a teacher, and his father was a mail clerk who held a degree in law. Locke was an only child and was raised in a cultural home. He attended the Ethical Culture School, which was a school with modern ideas about education, teaching moral principles, and human values. Unfortunately, Alain contracted rheumatic fever in his childhood.
Now it is time to discuss the purpose for AICPA’s code, why it is considered the foundation of ethical reasoning, and its most important purposes. The purpose of the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct is to, “represent the expectations for CPAs on the part of the public in performance of professional services,” (Mintz, S. & Morris, R. 2011. p. 14). Currently the majority of CPAs belong to the AICPA; so the fact that the code of professional conduct has been established and accepted by the members themselves, it is considered as the foundation of ethical reasoning in accounting. Principles of the Code reflect the member’s recognition and understanding of its responsibilities to the public, clients and other CPAs. They are used to keep members focused on
