Computer based training and also on the job training are great training tools used today. Computer based training (CBT) is a type of education in which the student learns by executing special training programs on a computer. CBT is effective for training people to use computer applications because the CBT program can be integrated with the applications so that trainees can practice using the application as they learn. Job the job training (OJT) takes place in a normal working situation, using the actual tools, equipment, documents or materials that trainees will use when fully trained. Both are very effective. Suggest examples where one is better suited than the other as a performance intervention. On-the-job training (OJT) is one of the best training methods because it is planned, organized, and conducted at the employee's worksite. OJT will generally be the primary method used for broadening employee skills and increasing productivity. OJT plan should include: The subject to be covered, set number of hours, estimated completion date and a method by which the training will be evaluated.To have a successful OJT program, supervisors need to assign a coach (mentor) to each employee involved in OJT.
