This popular author is synonym of topics which in certain era influenced masses of people who were not used to read about taboo issues. The issues were clear to everyone but culture of society was not willing to accept them so easily. It was Williams who broke imaginary boarder between the world of prejudices and world of reality. His works caused waves of protest on one hand but also appreciations on the other hand. It was probably his own life what gave him an inspiration for such realistic writings. We can consider him to be a multi-writer for his ability to contribute to various genres of literature. His prosaic works used to be published gradually in the most famous magazines, his poetry used to be read in coffeehouses all around the America and later also all around the whole world. But it was drama what integrated him into memorable play-writers and his talent was several times appreciated by the most valuable reward – by Pulitzer Prize. One of such a winning works is dramatic play called "Cat on hot tin roof". This play was written after great failure which was caused by his work named "Camino Real". Williams expected nothing after negative critic which let his personal ego down, but the opposite was truth. "Cat on hot tin roof" which was published approximately in 1939 and almost immediately started to gain positive repercussions. In 1940 it was already produced and performed on Broadway in New York City, and because of its great success, this play received incredibly high number of reruns.
