Dear Mr. Dahip,
I hope everything has been going well this year with all the extra construction. I am writing to inform you about the Campus Connectors. I am currently a Junior and have been riding the campus connectors between St. Paul and the East Bank since my Freshman year of college. In the past, the service has been great, and I was always able to get to where I had to be in a reasonable amount of time (15-20 minutes). This year I have not made it in a timely matter. I request that there should be more campus connectors running at a time.
Many of the campus connectors are overcrowded. People sometimes have nothing to hold on but another person. I have seen some students fall down and land on another student on the bus. This is potentially dangerous. Because the busses are so overcrowded bus drivers have to pass stops, therefore, making people wait for ten to fifteen minutes just to get on a bus. On numerous occasions, I have had two or three busses pass by my bus stop. This has made me late to some of my classes.
With the extra construction even if you were to get on a bus right away it will take at least twenty-five minutes to get between St. Paul and East Bank. Students did not plan on this since the Parking and Transportation website says the busses only take fifteen to twenty minutes to get between the campuses. Many students are late for classes, which affect their academic standing.
In conclusion, I would appreciate if you would add more campus connectors on route during the daytime hours. This way, more students will be able to make it to class on time, and the safety of the students will not be as affected. I believe it will help the students in both their safety and academics.
Thank you for...
