Dear Ms Douche,
Complaint regarding corridor clutter
I am writing this letter to bring to your attention the inconvenience caused by corridor clutter around my area of stay.
I have been living in this block since a year ago and I am very proud of the quality of life it has provided me. However, corridor clutter is one peculiar issue that I am not satisfied with. In my opinion, corridor clutter not only poses hazards but also it has cost me much frustration between my inconsiderate neighbours.
Many other residents would have in fact resorted to friendly negotiations with the neighbours responsible and if matters did not change for the better, a complaint to the town council. Some have reported town councils have exercised double standards, sometimes a warning letter will be issued and other times, a blind eye turned. I have also seen some of the residents who have cleared the clutter after the town council’s intervention. I am experiencing this problem with my neighbour and unfortunately, my friendly confrontation was to no avail. My neighbour beside me stores unused cardboard boxes along the corridor that can potentially cost fire and hinder fire escape. They also have placed plant pots that can encourage the breeding of mosquitoes.
Despite my disappointment with the present situation, I chose not to fight with them for corridor space since it will prove pointless with the harm done to our relationship. I suggest that authorities should ban all clutters along corridors, lift lobbies and etcetera. If some of the items are allowed,
the owner should take ownership of the items and be held responsible for it by demarcating only a small section in beside their door. Only items such as plants and shoe racks will be allowed to place there and all other items placed outside of the...
