Both Taylor and Bradstreet find eternal love in a masculine figure in their lives through these two poems. Taylor finds his love in God while Bradstreet finds hers in her husband. When Taylor says “Then mine apparel shall display before Ye/ That I am a clothed in holy robes for glory,” (lines 17-18) he is showing that he lives in the light of God.
