Compare education systems between China and Canada China and Canada are both focus on education, but they have different education systems in different level school, including elementary school, secondary school and high school. The first difference between China and Canada is class hours. In China, elementary school students in most area will go to school from 8am to 4pm with only a short break for lunch. Students from secondary and high school have longer hours than students from elementary school. So Chinese students spend more than eight hours at school per day. However Canadian students just spend five hours at school per day. The second difference between China and Canada is academic subjects. In China, students would learn many courses, Chinese, math, English, geography, biology natural sciences and so on. After finish school classes, parents would let their children to join some extra activities, like play piano, dancing. In contrast, Canada have some similar courses and less than that in Chinese. Students in Canada don’t need to join some extra activities, after they finish their classes, they can go home. The third difference is vacation times. In China, long break time is a happy thing for students to hear after the period of hard working. Summer holiday is usually 2 months, and winter holiday is shorter than summer time, about 6 weeks. In Canada, summer holiday has 2 months; 1 week for March and 2 weeks at Christmas .
