Traditional shopping and online shopping are different in many ways; they both have conveniences for the shopping customer; they also have good and bad points. Many people prefer online as oppose to in store shopping because life is so busy for many of us. I prefer online shopping because I live where there are not many stores around. Online shopping is easier for people who work from home, have classes online, or have small children in the home. Shopping online does not require you to drive, it does make it easier for you to find what you are looking for, and does not make you wait in long lines. When looking for an item all you need to do is type in what you need and you have it on your computer screen within seconds; now that you found that item you can place your order no matter what time of day or night it is. When shopping online you need to do research to find the best price. You can go to a website and then compare it with another site and the prices could be very different for the same item. Online merchants can sell you an item that is double the amount that you would find in a retail store. You will also have shipping costs, and you may not get the best price for that item as you will in the store. Shopping online may be more convenient travel wise but the cost may not be as efficient. Going to a store can be more convenient for people who are rarely home and do not have the time to compare prices online. Traditional shopping is quicker for people that do not have time to shop online. They do not have to wait to get their item in the mail, and there is no payment for shipping and handling. All that is required is means of transportation, patience for standing in line, and you pay and leave with item(s) in hand. This form of shopping is instant gratification for the customer.
