Requiring such services would be perfect if you truly care about your students and their future education and careers. It also has the opportunity to get them connected with people in their community of higher power, who could write them a recommendation letter in the future. In addition, students who work as volunteers gain an understanding of their self-worth. Teenagers who get volunteered with family businesses, helping the homeless, cleaning up the community or even farms have a sense of themselves as contributors. This sense of importance may get lost when parents do everything for their children.
Guinter (2011) feels it is essential to have many stakeholders to support and maintain an effective program. Guinter is also a professor at a local private university serves on many boards and uses these connections to collaborate with the school counseling program. He encourages the counselors to attend school board meetings to make their presence known. It is important to go out into the community to find people who support the schools and are positive role models to come into the schools to build recognition. Having those people show how school has provided them with success motivates the students whether they are college bound or not.
Most students try to avoid being lectured or get in trouble for something they can avoid. This is definitely extrinsic motivation that in turn create intrinsic motivation. Also, being able to see others students succeed around them can also motivate. If I don't care about my homework but I see that my friends do, I might be more likely to start caring about it

When I decided to go back to school, knew that college would help me refresh my brain in certain areas that I may need improvement on. I also returned to school because I want a job that will fit with me. Since I have been out of high school, I have had quite a few jobs. The jobs that were employed at, I knew that those jobs were what I did not want to have a career out of for the rest of my life. So, after all the different jobs I had back to back and me not being satisfied with either one.
The students are tested annually in basic subjects because it allows the government to measure, based on the student scores, how well schools are teaching their students. No Child Left Behind Act forces schools to hire teachers that are qualified.
Unlike public schools, charter schools allow parents to become more involved with their children’s school environment, teachings, and progress. One of their main goals is to improve the education system. But, a negative aspect of being a charter school is that the schools must meet their required goals, and have the possibility of closing if unattained. This is why some parents have a tough time deciding whether or not their children should attend charter schools because they have the potential to close if goals aren’t met. In relation to expenditures, charter schools are funded through sponsors and grants (Vann 1).
While many people change their ways of viewing life and their appearances, there are few people out there that remain the same. In academic similarities, while there are people who decide to not take school seriously, there are people who give it their all since elementary school and learn not to slack off. There are people who will help each other when needed and not ignore the needed help. There are people who follow their dreams all the way throughout elementary and high school, but even if they change their decisions of what they want to do, they still try hard and make their dreams come true. Some people do change their attitudes towards each other, but not everyone.
This self-assessment is based on the key factor of finding out where students are at with helping them transition from high school to college. When students are in high school, they rely on teachers and other staff members to keep them on the right track, but when it comes to being independent some students don’t have the actual skills to succeed. Take it from someone who lacked the confidence skills and the communication skills, but this self-assessment gives the student and the instructor the mindset of where to start. Some instructors are willing to work with students to work on these skills and accomplish the development of these skills. We have been discussion student responsibility and this takes part in student responsibility.
Do you ever wonder if our school systems are being too demanding or not demanding enough? Some people look at how schools are ran and think they might be asking too much of the students. Some may think they need to be asking for me. I am well aware of what it takes to be a high school student. I have become accustomed to the way my school works, with grades and many other things.
