I believe that as a teacher you are not only a provider of knowledge but also a role model for a child. Hook and Vass (2005) quote “Effective teachers teach not only the formal curriculum but also social and emotional skills too”. After extensive reading researching a number of theories behind the process of behaviour management in the classroom, I have
CTLLS: Assignment 1 Planning and Enabling Learning In this essay I will be discussing how to enable learning through planning and activities. There are four main subject areas within this assignment: learner’s needs, learning programmes, developing resources and reflecting on personal and professional development. I found that Geoff Petty, Anne Gravells and the Internet were all very good sources of information. I also used interviews with Jo Thompson and Lucy Coates as goldmines of quotations. I will write my assignment based around my Level One Electrical Installations course, which incorporates both practical and theory lessons as particulars of the course, and due to the nature of the course requirements, I have a large range of abilities in my classroom.
Using Narrative Text in the Secondary Classroom Jeffrey Ford Grand Canyon University: SED-535 November 20, 2013 Using Narrative Text in the Secondary Classroom Narrative text has been used for centuries to carry on cultural ideas and moralistic teachings. With this being the case, it is no wonder that secondary classrooms still use storytelling to formulate details so they are both substantial and pertinent to a reader. The use of narrative literature in conjunction with expository text has become a way for teachers to engage their students in learning about topics in the content areas within secondary schools. This is due to the fact that individuals can understand the events of their lives and communicate them through retelling their personal experiences to others. This essay will discuss the definition of narrative literature and provide both advantages and disadvantages of the use of narrative text in a secondary classroom.

Is the knowledge credible and reliable to the student who is utilizing it? It would be most effective for students if a post-secondary information literacy component was one of many in a long program of instruction starting in primary school. The need for learning approaches that emphasize synthesis, and the central role of information in developing discipline-specific intellectual frameworks make the teaching of information literacy (Russell,

The school selected is viewed as a Professional Learning Community (PLC). The demographics, goals, mission, annual yearly progress (AYP), enrollment, staffing, and community background will be researched and detailed. Schools are basically a community within a community and in order for a principal to be effective in their school they have to view their school as a learning community where not only students are learning but faculty and staff grow and learn also. Red Springs Middle School was the school chosen for this assignment because it is a school that
[pic] Collaboration In 2–3 paragraphs, describe how you will find answers to your questions or address your “wonderings” about assessment. Include possible resources, such as other colleagues, professional journals and/or organizations, or professional development. Many of my questions and hesitations regarding the concept of assessments have already been discussed and answered by the required excerpts from Educational psychology: Windows on classrooms that I read this week. I found the excerpts to be informative as well as extremely motivating. While I believe myself to be a dedicated, hard-working, and knowledgeable educator, I do rely on many factors to get me through the school year in regard to questions and concerns I may have.
