The main challenge in team building is communication; here are six challenges that can result when teams do not have good communication or if they have miscommunication: Absence of trust develops when team members do not open themselves up to each other. When we are open and exposed, the invulnerability of each member is taken away and a team learns to protect itself. As the team grows closer, the members of that team will begin to operate without fear of reprisal. As team members open-up and show their weaknesses as well as their strengths, the team grows stronger. When working on a virtual team as in an Internet class, the development of trust is even more difficult to obtain because there is not the face-to- face interaction.
Investing feedback in developing team cohesion is vital for the teams dynamics to work, because it inhibits or enables employees to be more productive. Feedback maintains focus for team cohesion, builds strong relationships and trust for the team 3. Teams can actually work against each other if they are not managed well.
