Commentary about leaflet: Depression . . . so inexplicably painful and mysterious it remains nearly beyond our understanding to those who have not experienced it in its severe mood, although the disorder which people go through rarely, are of such regularity that they do give many individuals a clue of the illness in its disastrous form. I decided to present my leaflet about unipolar depression, with the intention of informing an audience both men and women who are of age 30 and above. As depression is most likely to occur from the ages suggested above. Some cases of depression only occurs once whilst in others people may suffer permanently depending on how sever the illness is. Depressed individuals tend to live shorter life than non-depressed people, possibly because depression relates to heart disease and other illnesses. Those who live with the disorder may have an effect on work and family life as well as functioning, such as lack of sex drive, sleeping and eating. The leaflet appeals to the reader, who is likely to know about the disorder if they are a victim of the illness whilst if the reader was not aware of this; however, it is explained in sub-headings of what the disorder is about, explanations of the disorder as well as along with the treatments for it. I included these as readers would be able to relate to it as they are likely to have the illness themselves or may have someone that you care about with the disorder. The leaflet includes clear cut information on how the disorder appears within the individual such as, it is a mood disorder that features sadness, disappointment, self-doubt, loneliness and hopelessness. The feelings can be intense and can last for a very long time. In addition it also provides individuals with explanations of the illness in which there are two explanations on hand like the biological explanation: the monoamine
