The advantages and disadvantages of being Colombian "Colombia is passion" and "the only risk is to stay" are logos of Colombia in foreign countries, but are we really proud to be born in a country like Colombia? Nowadays, one of the things that can identify Colombian people in other countries is their nationality. That is the cover letter that Colombians have with the rest of the world. Unfortunately, this aspect sometimes can break the relationship with other people because they make bad perceptions of Colombian, due to the historical issues that our country has been. As a result, many people feel embarrassed of their race. Despite that, being Colombian can identify us as violent people and drug dialers; however, Colombia is a multicultural country and it is wealthy in nature and fauna as well as its population stand out for their moral values. The disadvantages of being Colombian are easy to recognize. First all of, due to the governmental problems that Colombia has, many groups out of the law have been created such as guerrilla and paramilitaries. These groups are very violent and they have caused a lot of damage to Colombian people. Moreover, Colombia has a history of drug traffic. Unfortunately, there are many Colombians character recognized in the word for being drug dialers. For example, Pablo Escobar was one of the biggest Colombian drug lord and narcoterrorist in 1980. These facts make that some Colombians feel dissatisfied of being from this nation because that’s the image that we have around the world. Nevertheless, the fact of born in Colombia gives people the opportunity of living in a multicultural country. Colombia has diverse traditions, food, costumes, music, among others.
