Peru is a country known for its ties with illegal drug activities mostly involving cocaine. It is the 2nd largest producer of the coca leaf. This is the political climate they will have to deal with if they decide to do business here. The Peruvian people I’m sure would appreciate the business coming their way. However, this atmosphere is not very conducive to a business of this type since it takes a large number of employees
At the same token, many Americans feel negative about Asian Americans. I think that they feel as though they are a threat. No only because of America’s past with them as far as going to war but also because many American’s feel as though many immigrants come to this country and do better than them and it’s at their expense. All and all, one has to admit whether they feel positively or negatively about Asian-Americans they have to agree that they have done very well in America socially and economically. Many Asian Americans are very smart.
Drug Trafficking in the United States from Mexico Drug trafficking in the United States and Mexico is a huge problem for the United States because it has a negative impact on other areas in society such as crime rates. The government needs to find a solution to better control drug trafficking because it claims lives and destroys families. Research shows Marijuana and Cocaine are the top two most illegally abused drugs in the United States. James Gray (2001) points out: Not only is this drug-money corruption problem of enormous concern in its own right, but additional lawless behavior often is derived from it as well. For example, the entire southern California area was shocked in September 1999 when a former officer of the Rampart Division
The people in this community know that what really counts is who they are inside, hence opposing the media’s efforts and the publics misconception. Jane and finch is known for its high population in immigrants and by many(especially the media) it is automatically assumed to be a poor community. On the contrary, immigration is what accents the level of diversity which has proven to be the strength and development of the community. In other words, it is the multiculturalism that highlights the community and creates an atmosphere of belonging to all cultures, especially immigrants who are
I believe because of that, they are stereotyped more negatively upon the world because of their negative leaders. It is really sad that they are considered the black shadow of the world because they do in my mind have potential to be a friendly thriving demographic area. Through the late 20th century and the 21st century we as Americans are contributing to a changing view of Arabian culture. These Arabian ideas are held by members of other particular groups. It can be based on membership in that group.
Although his bigoted attitude is entertaining, and enjoyed by those of all ages and backgrounds, his ‘playful’ racism undermines local and global prejudices that are overlooked and sometimes even sanctioned within our nation. These prejudices, throughout history, have proven again and again to be problematic and, on both a nationwide and global scale, morally corrupting. One Amazing Racist video that specifically came to mind, was the video called “Mexicans.” Ari picks up “corner workers,” like the ones depicted in Strangers in Our Mist, immigrants who are faced with few job opportunities in America, and thus are forced to wait on the corner for work, day in and day out. You can only imagine how volatile this job would be. Ari tells the immigrants he need help building a deck, and 15 of them run to be the first to hop in the back of his truck.
The reoccurring themes of violence, greed and corruption are key factors that have historically hindered the pursuit of democratization for many Latin American states. These characteristics are also tools, which many Latin American government leaders have utilized to manage and maintain political power in their respective countries. In particular, “Nicaragua’s socio-political profile resembles other Latin American countries with a long history of political conflict and polarization, weak state capacity, extreme poverty” and inequality (Bay-Meyer, 398). In Tina Rosenberg’s novel, “Children of Cain”, she emphasizes the prominence of fear as a tactic employed by the Sandinistas in Nicaragua to control the country throughout the 1980s. Since then, Nicaragua has managed to see a tremendous level of progression after its first coup d’état staged by General Sandino to seize control of the country from under the rule of the United States.
As the rot spreads, even more crime is generated by the climate of disorder and ennui it produces” ( Duk, Steven B. Dec. 1993). Drug prohibition also fosters crime by producing officialcorruption. The news media are full of accounts of cops caught stealing money or drugs from dealers or simply taking money to look the other way. Even judges and prosecutors are sometimes implicated. Such pervasive corruption denigrates and demoralizes all law enforcers and causes disrespect for law among citizens. The distractive effects of the drug war on law enforcement indirectly but profoundly encourage crime.
Assaults, ransoms, kidnappings, drug trafficking, and organized crime in general are some of the most common in the country. Every day people face the risk that a loved one might become a victim of these terrible crimes. The people simply do not feel safe in their own country anymore, resulting in them deciding to leave it for a fresh start. Extreme poverty adds to the list of reasons why people immigrate to the United States. Poverty in Mexico has also increased in recent years.
This sort of sexual exploitation in the form of human trading, is bring notoriety to its name and a lot of countries consider Pakistan as one of the major trafficker and blame it as a reason for this ghastly crime accompanying other countries and even United States Department of state recently raised a finger at Pakistan for being a base area of this deplorable business. Poverty is the leading cause of this slavery, and it’s evident that poverty leads to uneducation resulting in increased unemployment giving rise to such trafficking cases in society. Besides human trafficking is one of those serious crimes which is globally considered as the major cause of a fact that majority of the people carrying HIV/AIDS virus are women. Many women and children are unaware of risks associated when they intentionally opt for selling their bodies. So it is our government’s duty to establish public awareness campaigns on this issue because no nation is unaffected to this crime.
