Living in the Country versus the City Tyler Hines Marion Technical College Living in the Country versus the City There are quite a few differences and similarities between living in the country and living in the city. Some people prefer to live in the city, while some prefer to live in the country. I would prefer to live in the country myself because one has more freedom to do some things out in the middle of nowhere. Where a person lives and grows up can play a factor in how he or she lives his or her life, what he or she does for fun and the person he or she is. Where one grows up can affect how you live your life.
Houses are spread vastly apart leaving abundant room for gardens and fields. Due to a much reduced number of people inhabiting the these places, there is more room for pets to be owned and wild animals to roam around that keep the equilibrium maintained in the nature. The difference between the two is that people living in urban areas lead a more “urban” life, while the people who inhabit rural areas experience the more rural aspects of life. Some see this as an advantage, and again some see it as a threat to the environment around us. According to environmental groups, "Urban Sprawl is gobbling up open spaces in fast-growing metropolitan areas so quickly that it could spell extinction for nearly 1,200 species of plants and animals."
Suburban: in a smaller municipality within a metropolitan region, but not the core city. Some suburbs are true "bedroom communities," essentially residential communities for people who commute to work in the central city. Other suburbs have significant commercial and/or industrial areas and are important job centers in their own right. These roads are usually maintained for the safety of the citizens traveling to and from a major city. Urban can be categorized as big city living, with public transportation and walk able retail.
It’s also about the fresh air in small towns. Without exhaust fumes from cars, trucks, and buses harmful for people’s health Some people prefer the big city because it is where all the action is. There is plenty of things to do in a city like going to a show, go dancing a club, or go sightseeing. People like to move to there because it’s where the jobs are. 1.In a big city, you can earn more money Bc you can have more opportunities to find a good job 2.In a big city, you can move from one place to another easily because of better public transportation like buses and subways.
Country life gives you a better quality of life; therefore, you tend to live longer. In the city, the pace of life is always fast and hectic. There are people from different diversities crowding the streets, scurrying around to make the most of each day. It seems as if everyone is in a hurry whether they are going to work or out eating and shopping or tourists out sight-seeing .You are exposed to far more different cultures in the city with a broad range of different cuisines In the city, there are very few single-family homes but instead you find big, high-rise apartments that are full of people from all lifestyles. If you prefer crowds and no privacy then the city life may be for you.
Lower Land prices: Developers are buying land further away from the inner rings of the Greater Golden Horseshoe, this is due to low purchase prices Single family homes: the fact that they are building on the outer lines of the GGH, it gives them to build housing in areas of low density zoning lower crime rate in the suburbs, How did we get to this point? Decades of neglect and lack of sufficient investment - Decades of neglect and
Coastal areas have also the tendency to have a high population density. The reason for this is that Natural resources are far more common than in continental areas ports for trade and transport also result in high population densities: Kobe bay Japan. Major locations in coastal areas are like Mumbai and the east coast of China. Fertile areas also include high population densities, such as the Ganges valley and the Nile Delta. The Ganges valley also attracts many people because of religious & cultural reasons, and large water supplies.
Changing Urban Environments: What are the characteristics and causes of urbanisation? (Urbanisation=a process where an increasing proportion of the population lives in towns and cities) Causes: Rural-urban migration and natural increase. Rural urban migration works because of push and pull factors bringing someone from the countryside to the city. Pushes factors include bad living quality and pull factors include better jobs. Natural increase is where more people come into the city because of natural factors such as more births.
One who is on-the-go would enjoy this quick transportation, but it depends on the person, their job, and their lifestyle. The amount of money that a person spends each day varies in different places. For example, in a large city, you would probably spend more money grocery shopping than someone in a little town would. Most things tend to cost less in smaller places, and that is a huge advantage to living in one. Your job and budget do matter, but generally it is an upside to the smaller places.
Urban Living versus Rural Living Try to picture in your mind an exciting place that you enjoy the most and absolutely love spending time at. Did you picture your place in a fast-paced city or in the rural land of the country? When I imagine a place in my head I vision the peaceful country living that I’ve been raised around and the kind neighbors that would love to let you borrow some extra sugar and to jump your car when you need it. The city and the country life are two very different places and each has many different benefits. Most people tend to be more biased on the place that they have always lived and been raised when they have never experienced the other.
