Cigarettes are smoked by over 1.1 billion people. This statistic is inconceivable because smoking is damage the smoker however there is still a lot of smoking citizens in our society and peoples shouldn’t be unconscious this much. In my opinion the government should prohibit all these people from smoking in whole country. Tobacco use is the leading cause of illness and death in the United States. It causes many different cancers as well as lung diseases, such as emphysema and bronchitis, and heart disease. Smoking in Turkey is banned in enclosed areas but it’s not enough. As we know smoking in crowded places is harmful not only to person who carries cigarette. All people standing around that person and breath the smoke. Let's take a bus stop as an example; there are always a lot of people there. When one individual decides to light up the cigarette, everyone around him is affected from that person. In that case, banned smoking in just enclosed places isn’t solution. The exact solution is banning the smoking. We can protect young if we prohibit the smoking because psychologists have proved that young people are more likely to acquire a bad habit when smoking is commonly acceptable in society. Also the health care costs of smoking become a burden to government because smokers have more disease than nonsmokers. If we summarize the main idea smoking is unhealthy for our organisms - particularly lungs. Banning it will bring about only advantages. We will no more worry whether the air, which we breathe in the street, contains the smoke. Also the number of people who suffer from lung diseases will decrease. *Some statistics and informations are gathered from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_cigarette_consumption_per_capita http:// www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/tobacco/smoking/ http:// en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smoking_in_Turkey The
