Also for parents who have young children and cannot yet get them into a school or nursery due to their age, so need someone to care for their child while at work. It also gives the children a benefit as children can enjoy real-life experiences like cooking, shopping, gardening, mealtimes and outings to the park and library. They will look after your child in a home environment which is helpful if you want them to stay at home or if they are ill or if you want them to care for them at their own home. They provide care as well as opportunities for the one- to-one time which helps benefit the child as they are not missing out on any learning which is so important for children
Identify procedures in the early years setting that support children to settle and enjoy play and learning The first few weeks when a child is settling into an early years setting is a time of crucial importance to their later happiness in the setting. All children are individuals and while some children will adjust easily, others will take longer to feel comfortable and secure. Children who have a positive start to their new environment are more likely to feel comfortable, relaxed and valued, feel good about themselves as learners and have a sense of belonging to the pre-school community. All early years settings will have a 'Settling In Policy' describing procedures for supporting children through the settling in stage. Policies should be written with the child's emotional well-being at the centre.
Lastly achieving economic well being covers continuing in further education, going into employment or training once left school, that the individual is ready for employment, has access to transport and material goods, doesn’t end up on low income. There are various types of interventions that could become involved with the child and family, and the intervention may involve multiple agencies that have to work together to support parents, carers and families so they can help children achieve the positive outcomes, improve their lives and fulfil their potential. There are many professionals that are involved with interventions; one is the SENCO this is the person within the school/preschool/nursery that has responsibility for co-ordinating the support for the young person and also to give advice to other members of staff. Speech and language therapists are another professional that will give support to children that have difficulty in communicating they can also give advice to other people working with the young
Would you leave your child in a day care facility? Today more people are opting toward the idea of child day care centers, according to the American Psychological Association, (APA) “two out of every three children” are in the care of someone other than their parents. There are several positive things that come from day care centers but there are also some negative influences from day care centers. It is important to choose a day care that provides children with a healthy and safe environment. “Finding child care is more than merely picking a (day care) service that lets parents go to work” (APA.)
Families will have different requirements for childcare: * Parents may work or study and need their children cared for in a safe learning environment for all or part of the day. * Some children want to stay with their children while they socialise * Some parents want their children to be spend time in settings which offers services explicitly for young children’s learning. * Some parents want their children to be in small home based groups *
The children benefit from attending Brownies is that they would gain life skills that if they didn’t attend then they might not have gotten the opportunity. Parents are involved in Brownies as well as the children as they are invited to the camping trips to gain the skills with their children. E1: There are many parts to the role of the practitioner when they are meeting children’s learning needs some of these are working with families, providing a positive environment, and the children wellbeing. Working with families”, you should always make sure that you are approachable and friendly towards all parents so that they are happy about leaving their child with you” (Tassoni, 1999, pg. 315). This helps to meet children’s learning needs as the child’s primary career has a better understanding of the child and may be able to support the child when they are at home. I have seen this at placement where they run parent consolation’s twice a term, and if the teacher needs to see the primary career, they arrange meeting.
I always felt the need to give back to the program because it was a program was run by volunteers, volunteering their free time to give kids something to do afterschool other than cause mischief being that is wasn’t in the best of neighborhoods. During middle school I also did similar volunteer work there to give me something extra to do afterschool on my free time. My overall accomplishment in doing this project is really to give back to the community from which I came from. Before the program starts I will go through a basic training giving me the skills I need to assist a program leader in running a class. As a volunteer, I will be observed by my mentor and other program leaders in my skills of helping to run a class and completing tasks assigned to me.
Preference for homeschooling over traditional schooling outline Introduction: Homeschooling is currently becoming a progressively popular method of education throughout the United States. Nowadays there is a considerable debate whether children should go to schools for education or can have home education instead. People are starting to consider thinking which way would be more suitable for their kids and for themselves as well. They are assessing the positives and negatives of each option and then choosing the one that is best fitting their needs and life style. Although that most of parents that started home education for their children have found out that it is not easy to transfer school facilities to home, but it has become a very accepted alternative way for going to schools . The number of children being educated at home is considerably increasing though there are no accurate prevalence estimates as mentioned by Petrie, Windrass & Thomas, 1999.
