Most cherished or sentimental possession. Many people own possessions that they would not think to get rid of. They don’t hold onto them because they are valuable, rather they are treasured in a different type of way. These cherished possessions are worth to people what money can’t buy. My grandfathers’ watch is more valuable to me than any watch in the world. This special watch is my most prized possession because it means a lot to him and me. The watch is precious to me because of its history, its value, and the mood that it puts me in. My Grandfathers watch has come a long way. It was owned by my grandfather after he had received it from a ruler in one of the cities in Africa. His name was Mad Mullah. Mad Mullah was a legend in this city. He was a great war general who freed this city from an oppressive tyrant. My grandfather received this watch as a gift when he was a young boy. He had this watch for many years. This shows that this watch must have meant a lot to him. I remember him telling me when I was young boy that someday, I would be the one who would be in possession of this watch and I would know its true value. The watch that I possess isn’t anything special. It’s a normal pocket watch that was made around the 1950’s. The reason I prize this watch so much is not that it is valuable in price, but it is valuable in meaning. Keeping in mind that my grandfather had it for about 50 years before handing it over to me, the value of the watch is more than any money can buy. This watch is dear to me because it was a gift from my grandfather. The fact that he gave it to me alone makes it special. He didn’t give it to any of my siblings or uncles, rather, he gave it to me. Knowing this, my grandfather’s watch tends to always put me in a good mood after seeing it. After I have a bad day I just grab the watch and put it on my chest. The sounds of it ticking
