Cheating in Public Schools

There are three major reasons as to why some students engage in exam cheating. Some of the students will tend to cheat in exams because they are afraid of failure, others have no ability and others just like to take the exam cheating risks. Being afraid of failure is perceived as the most vital reason as to why students engage in exam cheating. This is because some students think that a lot of problems will come beckoning incase of exam failure. Some of the perceived problems are parents who always complaining every time a student has acquired poor exam grades. Other students are afraid because they fear that due to exam failure some of the friends and relatives will laugh and look down at them. Other students are afraid because they assume that exam failure will result into dark educational futures. As mentioned earlier some students cheat in exams because they have no ability. This is because they lack individual self confidence when facing the exams and other students cannot do because it may be too difficult. Other students have these self imposed ideologies where they believe that they are not smart enough to pass the exams. Due to these ideologies, these students tend to stay idle instead of working hard and therefore choosing to cheat in the exams. As earlier mentioned some students will cheat in an exam with the aim of taking risks. For example some students will use cheating as a sign of show off to their friends since they believe that this exam cheating is cool and challenging. Academic dishonesty is perceived as a very serious problem which has very severe consequences that can bring in long lasting effects on ones academics and career. For example some students are humiliated once caught cheating. This is because a student can put on academic probation and which may be accompanied by a written essay explaining the motivation for the cheating and
