A hero is a person who is brave, does great, and is admired for doing so. Stereotypically, a hero is a vigilante who fights crime daily and may even have a costume. Nevertheless, a hero does not have to be a man in spandex, nor does he have to save lives but rather, he must be willing to sacrifice in an act of selflessness. Heroism can be found in the novel ‘The Outsiders’ by S.E Hinton. These heroes are known as the Greasers.
Or, is Wayne a better hero then Cooper? I would totally disagree with Hawks. Cooper and Wayne are both heroes, and both are equally “good” heroes. Going “around the town like a chicken with his head off asking for help” is heroism. Coming back to clear the town from bad guys and risking his life for people that even don’t want his help is not foolishness, it’s heroism.
Nick does not allow his life to be overtaken by his dreams and goals like Gatsby and the Buchanan’s do, he is also able to determine when he has gone too far and learns from these mistakes and the mistakes of others which helps to become a better man. Both Gatsby and the Buchanan’s are to consumed in their own lives to be a hero to anyone, they do not care who they hurt in order get to the top and reach their goals. A true hero puts the well being of others in front of themselves and they will try to help a friend at almost any cost to themselves. Nick is not only the narrator of The Great Gatsby but he is also the
To some people it means more than anything, but to some it has not meaning or concept. The ones who hold their integrity high are what most consider the good people in this world, and just the opposite is true for those others that do not care for even their own integrity. Ours heroes can change in our mind as we get older with the inclusion of new ones or exclusion of others. When I was a child heroes like Spiderman and Superman occupied my mind. As I started to age I started to look for real life heroes.
Tearing apart a family does not mean arguing or having an affair, but it could also mean question and not finding the answers. This shows how AIDS is a destructive disease that not only harms the victims, but also their families. * She stood up and fought for Esther, this shows that Chanda loved her friends a lot. She has the will and braveness to make the decision of accepting her friend and to take the responsibility afterwards. This is an important point of

A solider to emulate “True heroism is remarkably sober, very un-dramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others at whatever cost- Arthur Ashe”. It takes a strong and dedicated person to push through the names, the criticism and become a success. No one sets out to be a hero or become someone’s inspiration, but you as the person looking up to them, look past the fame and the media to what is inside. No one else may see it but you know that is there, greater than anything.
The modern day hero is a person who comes out of nowhere to save a life or to save the day. Take for example Superman, Spiderman or Batman. These heroes are typically shown with chiseled chins, bulging muscles and perfect teeth; their appearance is flawless. They are heroes because they think their power forces them to be heroes, but they hide their face because they do not want the notoriety. Shakespeare’s hero is different from modern day heroes.
You have heard of many super heroes growing up such as batman, superman, etc. When you look at those types of heroes, you think of males with super powers with the ability to get rid of the bad guys. All of these heroes have different attitudes and different aspects of the real meaning of a hero. Aspects such as selflessness, inspiring, and distinguished. Heroes can be selfless in many ways.
At the end of the day, they are deemed the superhero that saves the day. Truthfully leaders are our heroes and they do often save the day. However, drowned out by the glimmer and the fame, there is a dark side to leadership that is often overlooked. Imagine a life where someone’s life depended on your every move. Your simple no or difficult yes, could changed someone’s life forever.
