In 2002 her father was diagnosed with metastic head and neck cancer. She went with her father during lots of treatment so them was radiation and cyber knife radio surgery which kept him leaving 5 more years. Leukemia Amee Conine COM/156 January 20, 2013 Dr. Lonelle Rathje Leukemia It had been a long year battling Breast Cancer, all the doctor appointments, chemotherapy and then the radiation therapy, Grannie was exhausted. She just wanted to sleep all day, she was worn out. The family was told that she would bounce back after a month or so, the radiation therapy would wear off, then she would be back to herself in no time, but that never happened. She had told us that she was going to the doctor that afternoon; he had called to ask her to come in. That is never a good thing.
I want to be a part of the team fighting against cancer. * Radiation Therapists also play a vital role maintaining a positive treatment experience by keeping an optimistic attitude and providing emotional support to patients. I have an excellent attitude and outlook in general and feel I can carry this over to my career as a Radiation Therapist. * I am very interested in the technology used to treat cancer. As new technology is developed I will enjoy learning new procedures.
My mother thought that I was not going to make it. I was born with an abnormally large skull, Yellow Jaundice and had a hernia as well; the doctors back then diagnosed me with water on the brain, and told my mother that I will not have a normal childhood. They were right about the childhood, while I was growing up, during my elementary years, I felt like an outcast, a reject and just a worthless individual. I had a very hard time adjusting in school. I started school by failing first grade.
With my efforts, I was able to obtain a grant for my High School education in a private school and that made my mother so happy and proud. When I was 16 they discovered that I have a rupture in the retina of my left eye and she did everything to collect the money to take me to the hospital and had a surgery; I remember seeing her cried, telling the doctors to please fix my eyes, that she wouldn’t me suffer the same way that she did. Even that I don’t see perfectly well, I been able to succeed thanks to the prompt actions that were taken. I never thought of moving out of my country, what for? I had it everything: a house, a job, my family, a fiancée; but different social and family situations take me out of my nest and sent me to fly to a different world.
