If schools don’t have enough calculators or computers, students can use their cell phones as a tool to go on an educational website. They will be learning about technology. This will help students get engaged in learning and increase test scores. Another advantage of having a cell phone at school is in case of a change in plans or emergency. Most students are involved in sports or after school activities.
People say that students can use their phones for emergencies at school but they can just make a phone call in the office. Also now days there are certain phone plans which include internet, so not only are they texting but they are now surfing the web as well! Students shouldn’t be allowed to have phones in school because it’s one of the major downfalls in their success at school. When the teacher is demonstrating a lesson to the class they’ll be busy with their phones instead. Also in most cases the students forget to turn off the volume to their cell phones which will then interrupt the class or test.
Some teachers allow the use of cell phones in class and some will take away the phone if seen. The question is should cell phones be used on school grounds or not? There are many different views on the combining of use cell phones in an educational way. Cell phones can totally benefit students in many ways. Some significant uses of cell phones would be; research, calculations, or using academic apps.

There are some who would say texting leads to a decline in language and grammar skills. Others believe texting can improve a child’s grammar, reading, and writing skills. And, of course, there’s always the possibility of a student needing to contact a parent because of a dangerous situation. Thus, having a cell phone is like having a guardian angel. Students can also connect with friends, but not just because it’s a fun thing to do; my teacher asks us to text or email our friends when they are absent to let them know what’s going on in class and to inform them of any homework. When used responsibly, a cell phone can be an excellent communication tool. Also,cell phones–especially smart phones -are a fabulous learning resource.
Cell Phones Affecting School In the twenty-first century, we have been bombarded with new technology and it has impact on every aspect of our life, including education. Technology advancement is one of the most essential factors for teenagers in western societies. It is booming and cell phones are only a fraction of this boom. With cell phones, adolescents are able to have an expanded social network that is not restricted by physical locations. For teens to interact with their peers, they only need to have cell phone contacts and the peer group experiences can be shared in virtually every place and time zone as long as they can access network coverage.
How often do you use your cell phone, I always use my phone and see others using theres whether they are driving, walking down the street, or even in class. Cell phones have become a part of our everyday lives. However it is always a controversy in the classroom between teachers and students whether cell phone usage should be allowed in school. Students like me enjoy texting during their classes, but most teachers oppose having cell phones in class. I personally am one of the students who you could say has a “cell phone addiction” I am the one teachers catch texting from the corner of their eye as my fingers move quickly across the screen of my Iphone during class.
If the store personnel had to run to their office to use the phone, it would have taken longer for the ambulance to arrive. The cell phone has multiple uses. In addition to the convenience, there is the web, watching movies, e-mailing or texting. Sitting in a doctor’s office way past our appointment time, I downloaded a movie on my phone to console a very hyper child. If you forgot to tell someone something important, send them a text.
