Q. Write an account on Mao Tse Tung's strategy to lead CCP to victory. What do you mean by 'Sinification' of Marxism? Ans: Between 1916-28, China was in a political chaos and was under the control of warlords, comprisig of bandits and revolutionaries. After the death of Yuan Shikai, China was politically divided among warlords,due to lack of a powerful leader.There was virtually no government at Peking nor was there any government in the Southern China. As a result, riots and Banditary became a regular feature. China was in a state of anarchy under the warlords. In such a situation, there was a vibrant force among the youth of China. Also, due to industrialization, there was emergence of intellectuals and the bourgeoise class, who were tryin to make a strong political structure. In 1921, 2 parties emerged in China, one of the bourgeoise and the other of intellectuals (CCP) who worked closely with the Western intelligentia. This gave a chance to international powers to tighten their grip over China, but Washington Congress was helping out China though they were unsuccessful, due to the chaos within China. Warlordism in China was heirarchical, amngst the largest was Frekien Group, who took control of Manchuria under a Bandit leader. Under such militant warlords, people were suffering alot. However, there were some who were trying to improve the system. By 1920, China started witnessing economic and financial crisis. It has to be said that the major section that was affected by warlordism was the bourgeoise class. Guild like organizations started to revolt against warlordism and supported leaders like Sun Yat Sen. Unions were organized in different parts of China, which became a large movement. Inspired by the Russian Communist Revolution, away from the bourgeoise class, a young group of intellectuals came up and stressed on the overall revolutionary strategy and
