Either they’re not poor enough, they’re not poor in the right way ‘ or they need the money for the wrong reasons. The reading in the book Keeping Woman and Children Last, showed time and time again the shocking stories of how people fall into poverty after living a middle class life for decades. Reasons pertaining to illness, death, unemployment, divorce and accidents left these people with nothing and the government would refuse to help them. Homelessness September 8, 2011 Abstract Homelessness is becoming an increasing problem in the United States. Loss of jobs and decreasing wages since the recession have contributed to this increase. Veterans and mentally ill people do not get the support they need to maintain their own housing. The government helps some of these people but it lacks the funding needed to help everyone who needs it. The United States needs to find a way to put more people to work at wages that will enable them to afford housing.
People are struggling to survive everyday because they have no food and shelter. These people may always dig through the trash to find something to eat for the day, not knowing if they will find anything. Families may always live in horrible conditions, having no other choice, because they do not have enough money. It’s extremely hard for them to find well paying jobs in these countries. For most of these people it’s nearly impossible to get out of poverty because they were born and raised in that culture, unless other people who aren’t in poverty help them out.

This is not a solution either, due to the country already struggling in a financial depression.

The women also had a hard time keeping her young children in school, especially if they lived on a farm because the children would need to help their mother and father with the animals and crops, so they wouldn’t get a proper education. The few women that went to collage had to drop out because the price was too high to afford to stay in. It was harder for women to get a job because they were weaker than men and most likely inexperienced but they would take what they could get, if they could get anything. The women who was at their last resort was to send their children away to work and earn a small pay to buy food.
