1) Would principles of scientific management be useful to Timbuk2? Explain How... Yes. In fact, at Timbuk2 it appears that the scientific management method has been practiced by Rob Honeycutt. Certain principles such as the analysis of the work system, has been used by Rob Honeycutt, the owner of the Timbuk2 by observing and analyzing the use of Toyota Sewing system that effect a positive change in the effectiveness of it production line and cuts it labour costs drastically. Other element of the principles of scientific management, he also relying on his employee’s ideas and suggestion making the employee satisfied and this encourages them to stay and increase their productivity. Timbuk2 also introduced a pay incentive program to the company that rewards employees for learning new skills.
