1. Which three environmental forces are likely to have the greatest effects on FedEx? Explain your answer. The three forces in my opinion are competitive forces, legal and regulatory forces, and political forces. Just like every other organization, they are subject to the world economy in categories such as the price of fuel and how they supply customer’s purchases with foreign countries. With expansion to international, they are subjected to the rules and regulation of all the foreign countries they operate in. 2. What are the major strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) associated with FedEx? In my opinion, the major strength of FedEx is the loyalty in which employees of the company have. The fact that they have employees have stated that they have purple blood alone lets you know what kind of dedication and commitment they have towards their company. Because they operate globally the company has access to revenues other companies don’t which is also strength for them. By using various vehicles of movement such as planes and trucks, they can deliver to a larger market. In terms of weaknesses, the biggest one is their prices. In terms of international prices, FedEx almost doubles USPS and I would know from experience. That could hamper them in the long run as some of their business might shy away from the prices and turn to their competitors. 3. Is there evidence that FedEx has attempted to adopt and use the marketing concept? Explain. In my opinion there is such evidence. They continue to bring in and purchase more companies and are always trying to expand their business all over the world.
