Case Study on China Design: A Global Center for Hot Products Statement of the problem/ purpose: Sony is struggling in China because of its design. Sony is branded as the “Daddy” or in other words their products are for old people. The teenagers in China prefer other brands compared to buy the brand Sony. Not only Sony is experiencing this problem. Even brands that are from China are also experiencing this kind of dilemma. The Companies have to redesign their product or image in order to catch the people’s attention. So in August Sony has opened a design center in Shanghai to solve this issue. The designers gave 50 young Chinese people to take pictures in their daily lives in order to anticipate the trends in their generation.…show more content…
Some consumers prefer the functions and features of the product rather than the design of it. They can make the product design the priority and reimaging their product that could have a great appeal on the consumers. They can also hire a lot of designers from all over the world to design a product that would trend in this generation. They should be the first who will lead the trend so that they could be the first to succeed in it. Another one is that they should put all their time and effort in marketing and branding. The new product design should suit to the lifestyle of the consumers. For me design has a lot of impact in every consumer. People want to have the latest design out there. People always use their eyes to look for attractive things like sports cars, bikes, architectural designs and even good looking people. So to also have an attractive design the people wants to have it. It makes the product desirable. There are different kinds of reason that they are doing this. Companies also do this to reimage their companies to higher standards to compete
