The Caribbean is located to the west of Africa. In the Caribbean there are three main resources, they are bauxite, petroleum and Sea Island cotton. Bauxite is used in cements, chemicals, face make-up, soda cans, dishwashers, siding for houses and other aluminum products. Petroleum is used in power stations to generate electricity, to power combustions engines in vehicle and to make all plastic including polyester and nylon as well as asphalt; and Sea Island cotton which is used in many of the batik cloths that are made in the Caribbean. Islands, such as: Nevis, Jamaica, Guyana, and Grenada; are countries and islands that produce these resources. Two different aspects of the Caribbean culture are the food and music. Caribbean foods are normally peppering coming down from our African descendants; some of these food include; cassava bread, coconut dumpling. Also music is very traditional, some types of Caribbean music are: Dancehall, dub, kumina, reggae, soca, steel pan, string pan, lover’s rock……show more content…
