Building trust with parents or carers will result in them knowing that the nursery is a very good place for their child as it offers a great amount of help and support, which is especially important for new parents or carers. Other professionals It is also important to partner with other professionals as they will offer the support and services, where needed, to improve the overall development of the child. For example, a speech and language therapist may assist a child with communication difficulties. Another example would be a play therapist to diagnose, prevent or resolve a child with psychosocial challenges. Multi-disciplinary teams It is very important that everyone in a multi disciplinary team work in partnership.
To develop a positive relationship with a child can often take some time. This can take a lot of patience and trust. Trust is a huge part in developing a relationship if someone trusts you they are more likely to come to you if they have a problem that they need help with. It is important to adapt communication to include all children. In my class the children are always greeted with a smile, good morning and how are you today aswel as sign language and PECS.

Being able to communicate effectively with professionals help to work together in the interests of the children’s wellbeing. Children can pick up on poor relationships and will become unsettled and anxious if they sense tension and discord. Communication is also the crucial foundation for all children’s learning and social development. Early years practitioners have a vital role in supporting the communication development of all children, especially those with a communication disability. Projects such as the Effective Provision of Pre-School Education (EPPE) and Peers Early Education Partnership (PEEP) have been instrumental in highlighting the long term impact that high quality early years provisions can have on young children.
The career path of neo-natal nursing requires a lot of work in nursing school and finding a good work environment, but the benefits of the job are outstanding. I have chosen this career path because I like to help people. Another reason I chose this career is because I enjoy being around babies and I think they are such a miracle. I will enjoy the rewarding feeling of being able to help as a new life begins. I realize this career may be stressful and even sad at times.
Effective communication is very important for variety of reasons: Making relationships – Effective communication helps to create new relationships not only with a child, but with parents, careers and colleagues too. To make new relationships effectively you need to use verbal and non – verbal communication, and you need to be friendly, also smiling a lot. Developing relationships - it is important not only to make new relationships, it is also very important to develop and maintain it. To do that professionals need to maintain friendly and supportive approach, and be interested in what other people are doing or feeling. Expressing thoughts and ideas – in order to encourage children and young adults to talk about what they learned and what they think, or encourage them to express themselves imaginatively, communication skills are also needed.
Having good communication skills helps us to build strong relationships with not only the children we would be caring for but also the parents and colleagues. All this would help create a happy pleasant environment needed for children to feel comfortable and
Introduction: Effective communication is the most important factor within care settings for children and young people. If you are able to communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, children and young people you are able to build strong relationships within all sectors of your work place including different professionals such as other teachers, doctors, nurses and the authorities. Communication in the work setting varies from one-to-one interactions with a child or a parent, group interactions with the children and staff meetings. In my report I will explain the different reasons why people communicate and I will also give an explanation of how communication affects relationships within the work setting. Practitioners need to praise children and encourage them to succeed in their learning and give them the support they need. Practitioners need to build positive relationship with not only their key children and other children in their setting but also with the children’s parents this gives them a better chance of giving children more support at home. See appendix 1. At the setting parents can get involved and this will benefit planning for the child as parents know their children better than anyone and they will know their likes and dislikes and will be able to help them with their development.
