From completing the Career Interests Profiler and the Career Plan Building Activity: Competencies I was able to learn the strengths and weaknesses of my competencies but did not expect the results I received from the career interest profiler. Now that I know where my strengths and weaknesses in competencies are and I also know which areas I need to work on to improve. My results show that I am fairly level loaded with my strengths being delivering results, organizing, following instructions, goal focus, and coping with pressure however they are not as strong as I would like them to be. All of these competencies are needed to pursue my career goal of becoming the Operations and Supply Chain Manager within my company. Researching was rated a little lower than the others so now I know that I need to focus on making improvements in this area. In knowing and understanding my personal competencies I will be able to improve my critical thinking skills by being able to apply logic to my thinking and evaluate arguments successfully. Following instructions and coping with pressure was atop my list. Pressure and how we deal with it shows us what we are made of and how we will deal with situations. Some people do their best to just avoid pressure altogether. I think that I do my best to speak up and be honest. Knowing this is my strength helps me to communicate effectively with my co-workers. I enjoy taking the initiative to resolve problems as quickly and peacefully as possible. Delivering Results is also a stronger competency according to my assessment. I thrive on knowing someone is depended on be to deliver the results. I feel I am a very hard worker; I enjoy being innovative and finding creative solutions that are out of the box.
