The six business objectives of information system: 1. Operational excellence Any company must ensure that their operations are working efficiently and effectively because this can contribute to profits. Information systems and technologies can help the company to increase sales due to excellent performance. For example, Le Meridian hotel uses a system from Micros-Fidelio in front office to make ease the operation. The system will help workers to do job easily and get information they need at fingertip, without having to be stressed about finding it through paper or phone calls. Thus, this will make the operations work smoothly and outstanding. 2. New products, services, and business models In order to create new products and services, a company can use tools in information system and technologies. Business models describe how a company produces, delivers, and sells a product or service to create wealth. Today’s products have been developed into many intelligent machines or devices which includes lot of functions. For example, long ago there was no internet reservation system being provided. Now, guests can only booking for rooms in just one click. Hotels also used to check in guests manually. However, with the existing of new system, they are being able to check in guests automatically using the system. It will make the process faster and contribute to guest’s satisfaction. 3. Customer and supplier intimacy When customers are satisfied with services provided by a company, they are likely to return. This will result in high sales and customer will be loyal to the company. A hotel can show their appreciation to guests by sending birthday wishes through e-mails. The same goes to the suppliers, company must ensure they have a good relationship with suppliers them because suppliers are important in providing vital inputs. 4. Improved decision
