Big Changes for a Small Hospital 1. Consider the factor from the situational leadership theory outlined in Figure 13.4. Apply these factors to Jacobs and Windber. Mr. Jacobs started work for small hospital named as Windber Medical center facility as the president. Mr. Jacobs dreaded when he entering into a new environment and started to work under their culture and was discussed with employees and community. Mr. Jacobs made a community center that would allow members of community that would help people with health related question. Under Jacobs’s leadership Windber has established an affiliation with the Plane tree treatment system, which integrates meditation, massage, music and other holistic methods in to traditional health care, and the wellness center which offers fitness training, yoga and acupuncture. He made connections with the employees of the hospital and the community at large. Mr. Jacob first interviews each of the employees to find out what they wanted from the community and from the hospital. Once he found out what the issues were he set forth to make a medical center for the community. So he wanted to do something for not only the company but for the people as well. 2. How do you think Jacobs would score on the least preferred co-worker (LPC) scale? Why? Jacobs took orientation to make the hospital a place where common people could get direct access and consultancy from medical experts and supply of services to take care and improve their health using new methods of medical treatment such as meditation, massage, yoga, acupuncture, music and so on. The hospital’s new preventive care slogan was then changed to “Work out at our hospital so you can stay out of our hospital.” 3.
