The most relaxing hobby that I have ever started is body boarding in the ocean. It is also a great exercise. Swimming in water and getting your heart rate going is a sign of a good workout. Body boarding is similar to surfing, but instead of standing on a board, your body lies on the board level with the water. Body boarding is very therapeutic because being in the ocean is like being in a totally different world. It is amazing to see what the natural wonders of the ocean has to offer. There is a stringer which is a straight rod inserted into the center of the board to maintain stiffness and support. Also, a bat tail is located on the end of the board. The shape of a bat tail resembles the wingspan of a bat. This provides the board with much maneuverability and allows spins to be performed in the water. Along with the board, other equipment is needed such as a wetsuit. A wetsuit is a full body shaped rubber material that covers your skin and keeps it warm from the cold temperatures of the water. The wetsuit can also help prevent a rash on your stomach from the friction of the board. A pair of fins is also required with your board and suit. The most popular brand for body boarding fins is called Vipers. They are small, light weight, and very comfortable. Fins are rubber
