One of the major problems is that aboriginal people attending residential school often have parenting difficulties. It is important to understand what impact the school has on families and how parental struggles are connected to their experiences in school. First of all, it is necessary to discuss the reality of school life to understand how it may affect one’s later life. The attendance to residential school was mandatory. Young children are forced to leave home to go to one of the 153 boarding schools across the country.
Adults returning to college will have the benefit of increased self-esteem, the ability to change professions, and future opportunities for advancement in their current careers. On the other hand, we have Linda Lee’s essay “The Case Against College” explaining that college is not for everyone. Students in high school that choose not to apply themselves should not attend college. These students may not be ready for the heavy course work, the expenses, or the dedication of time needed to earn their degree. Although both authors prove strong points it is obvious that whether your choice is college or trade school, as long as you apply yourself you will be guaranteed future success.

Base on Rose’s essay and my personal experience, I believe Anyon’s claim about school’s socio-economic class determines the type of instruction students receive is wrong. The experience of Mike Rose in his essay “I Just Wanna Be Average” complicates the idea of author Jean Anyon in “From Social Class and The Hidden Curriculum of Work”. Mike Rose had described the learning experience at a school call Our Lady of Mercy which was located in middle class area of Los Angeles, where some of his teachers are definitely under qualify for the position. The sophomore English teacher Mr. Mitropetros is a great example of a working-class school teacher. According to Rose, Mr. Mitropetros had “little training in English” (153), ask the students to “reading the district’s required text, Julius Caesar, aloud for the semester” (153).
CRN:23166 Going to high school is an experience, because walking into any high school for most teenagers is like walking into another world. In one’s opinion high school could be considered a metaphor for the real world because school is a subculture in itself. The text book attests that, “While in school, young people acquire identities and learn patterns of behavior…exposed to a hierarchical, bureaucratic environment...[and schools] emphasize conformity to societal needs...” (Margaret L. Anderson, 2008). Choosing The Breakfast Club to analyze social inequality seemed like a perfect example to write about. The movie explores the relationship amongst high school students who are socially separated, are forced together and find that they had more in common than they initially thought.

(web 5) Teachers of boarding school that taught had to live with their students but received minimum pay of four to ten dollars a month. (web 5).
It is for the purpose of labeling peers and deciphering which children are inferior, it is the social aspect of schooling. Lastly, the propaedeutic function teaches a minimal amount of children to manage the population to that the government can continue without being challenged. Initially I was taken aback while reading Gatto’s article, particularly in regards to Inglis six functions but upon further review and digging deep into my own personal experiences with the public education system, predominantly looking at my years spent in high school I would say there are some sad realities behind theses six
A good education is greatly respected and the benefits of having a college degree are much greater than those who do not receive a college education. People who have a high school diploma have fewer opportunities than those who received a college education and job companies are more likely to hire the higher educated person because of their expertise and educational experience. Although this may seem unfair and inconvenient to most, most jobs companies are looking for a more experienced person and someone who will be able to learn quicker and apply the knowledge that they have already obtained throughout college into their
