Thy can not question their government...or their rights. But not knowing about something does not keep us from questioning. All it does is keep us un-informed. Teenagers remain un-educated about things like STD's because some schools have banned the teaching of it. Is that keeping the students safe?
It could make the students and the staffs feel more uncomfortable. Seeing a security guard with a weapon could cause some children to feel scared. It is unrealistic to assume that armed guards will have the proper weapons to handle a gunman at the right place and the right time. There is also a greater chance for unfortunate things to happen or go wrong. Armed staffs, teachers, guards may be equally dangerous if they have an issue (family, relationships, jobs) that triggers them to turn against the school and students.
Landon Stewart Mrs. Luker Government A4 10/23/12 Cons of School Uniforms There are many schools in the U.S. that require their students to wear uniforms, and there are more that don't. I believe that school uniforms should not be required for a few reasons. Uniforms take away from a person's individual identity and freedom to express himself or herself. They can be costly to people depending on a family’s financial status. School uniforms can also be a very uncomfortable fashion that students would not take a liking to.
Final Product #2 By banning books, it creates a negative effect on kids and adults and possibly even eliminate the teachings of life lessons for students. Going through life without the knowledge of what else is out there besides “good” in people can be harsh for some people especially for kids. Kids would not be able to handle life too well in the real world, if the whole time when they were younger they were being protected from all the "bad things" and “bad people.” Many people decide to do what they think is best for the safety of children, but in reality when kids grow up to be adults sometimes it harms them in more ways than helping them. Books shouldn't be banned from society, but some books do have suggestive content or profanity. When the so-called “negative parts” of the books remain, kids gain knowledge of what is and what is not good to do, say, or act.
They would be acting against freedom of speech because the libraries wouldn’t be able to carry the books they wanted. Also, people should be able to read what they want to. Congress shouldn’t decide what is good and what isn’t. If parents don’t want their kids to read certain books, then they should monitor the books that their children want to read. Moreover, this acts against freedom of speech because people wouldn’t be able to read what they want to.
If they had low self-esteem this could mean that the child/ young person may be facing further abuse in their parenthood as they are very defenseless. If someone has been abused from a child it may mean that they could possibly never reach their full potential. This would be due to depreciation that they had faced and possibly end up making them feel powerless to take on a role which would consist of obligation. Not being able to have relationships with people in the future, making friends as a child and finding a husband/partner once in parenthood. Self-harm would make the service providers very mistrustful as the pain imposed on them by themselves is showing as the pain they are facing at some other point with someone else.
But this causes the students to hide their feelings, and causes a lot of the bullies students to hide their increasingly depressive and angry feelings and as it already well known, people who mask their true feelings can do more harm than good. If schools would pay more attention to dramatic changes in the person’s behavior rather than penalizing the smallest action, they could maybe weed out the true causes of the bullying and things would not turn out to end in severe action, or possibly even end in a student’s suicide. If students would become more interested in looking at themselves, instead of looking for faults in their fellow classmates, they would see that bullying does not make them better that their victims, but actually makes them the same, or even lower. Most of the time
Some people were against the idea of abstinence because they said this would put their kids at risk by “providing a fear-based program that gave children incomplete, inaccurate, biased an sectarian information”. A women from Planned Parenthood referred to it as a “trick” to the students (517). Limbaugh disapproves of this opinion, and says it is “absurd” since he believes that this approach is honest and provides student with information about health endangerment. Students will learn about the truth of a sexually active
They probably do not speak in class or in a group and usually tend to avoid team sports and activities because they do not want to be chosen last. Which I think is completely unfair do to the fact that no one should have to be afraid to go to school, that is one place they should feel safe going
That’s all I want is just to limit the access that people have to firearms. Another argument would be to not leave people defenseless but as I stated before there are other ways to protect yourself. Right now there is a debate going on about letting people carry guns onto school campuses because of school shootings that happened in “gun-free” zones. I do not think that would be a wise idea because if any little misunderstanding, argument, or dispute went on and someone really disagreed with it, then who knows what would happen. Fights in schools happen all the time, but usually the worst of it is a couple punches thrown.
