He argues that humans are made in the image of God with the potential to accomplish perfection in the future, and then humans will then grow to become the likeness of God. Hick accepted that if the likeness of God is to be accomplished through experiencing evil then God is partially responsible for evil. However, Hick argues that God is justified in allowing evil because we develop virtues as a result of overcoming life’s challenges. These virtues are “intrinsically more valuable than the virtues created within him ready made without effort on his own part”. Vardy’s example further supports this with the analogy of the king who falls in love with a peasant girl.
Paul's gospel is deeply theological, but it is also eminently practical. The Good News of Jesus Christ is intended to transform a person's life. Until individual Christians own and live out the theology, the gospel has not accomplished its purpose. Paul has briefly touched on the practical significance of what he writes throughout Romans 1-11. But beginning in chapter 12 Paul turns his full attention on the ethical implications of the gospel.” (393) The process of sanctification is constant.
But in a Christian nation, as our Founders would have defined it, the principles and institutional foundations are Biblically based and the people in general share a Biblical world-view. Before America was America Christopher Columbus' commission was given to set out and find a new world. Though this order was given from King Ferdinand II and Queen Isabella of Spain according to Columbus’ personal log, his purpose in seeking undiscovered worlds was to “bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the heathens. …. It was the Lord who put into my mind … that it would be possible to sail from here to the Indies … I am the most unworthy sinner, but I have cried out to the Lord for grace and mercy, and they have covered me completely … No one should fear to undertake any task in the name of our Saviour, if it is just and if the intention is purely for His holy service[1].” Columbus, being a Catholic, was Protestant and felt obligated to bring God to the world.
It is not a reliable way. This includes reasoning and making predictions without further testing. Faith is another way that a lot of Christian believers us to seek the truth. The faith based way of seeking the truth is different from the scientific method in that it can answer a lot of questions about the most important truths. (Religious-Science.com 2008) The truths about the purpose of life and that our creator, God wants us to be happy and that he has a plan for each one of us.
Well, as a Christian I had a pretty good knowledge of what to expect from reading Romans one through eight. The topics affect my Worldview in a good way to know that God is the creator of the natural world, also Our identity comes from Him because we were born in His image, how human relationships are always difficult to comprehend because of our sinful nature, and to know that God our creator does not judge one based on his or her race, which corresponds to their culture, yet He judges us about our faith. The topics has strengthened my Worldview more, and they show me how my worldview is different from non-believers because my Worldview reflects on the word of
In Deuteronomy 28, it is very clear of God’s blessings and curses for these promises. For example, the Bible clearly states “When you harkened to the voice of the Lord your God, all these blessings will come upon you and overwhelm you” (Deuteronomy 28:2). In the same chapter, He also states, “But if you do not harkened to the voice of the Lord, your God and are not careful to observes…Commandments…all these curses shall come upon you and overwhelm you” (Deuteronomy 28:15). Another aspect which is missing from the framework is the importance of fellowship with God. In-order to form a relationship with God, a person must not only attend church but must read his instructional manual for guidance which is the Holy Bible.
In the book of genesis dealing with Adam and Eve is a good destiny to look at, the good and bad. Even though God knew it would happen the serpent knew that he couldn’t tempt Adam that easy but; he went after Eve. At the end of the day God has good positive destinies for all of his children. It’s up to the individual to want to chase after the good life that God has in store for them. (Jeremiah 29:11-For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.)
The kingdom of God captures both good and bad people. The message is given to both. They live together and are given a chance to change and grow. The kingdom does not operate according to human calculations. We do the work which God has entrusted to us, and then trust in God to bring about the result.
~"Israel" means "the one who struggled with God." ~This story I which a human being struggles and finally is reborn at a higher level of spirituality has been taken as a metaphor for the spiritual evolution of the people of Israel. ~As a result of the struggle, Israel the patriarch receives not only a new name but also the promise that many nations will be born from him. ~The nation Israel -the smallest of people - is perceived as the spiritual center for the world to grow toward God. ~This is it's destiny thought Jews do not feel that it has yet been
How do you study my mind and you are also a created being? How do you observe my behavior and diagnose? How can you predict my future behavior based on me past and present occurrences? While these are some of the questions that wage war between the two disciplines, Psychology and Christianity have always agreed on bulky areas of life. Christianity exalting love, self esteem, self-image and so does Psychology.
