Bengal Tiger Information Arriah August Gronholdt 10/13/09 1. The Bengal Tigers scientific name is Panthera tigris tigris or Panthera tigris bengalensis. 2. The Bengal tiger found in Bangladesh, India and also in Nepal, Bhutan, and Myanmar and in southern Tibet. The Bengal tiger inhabits in subtropical and tropical rainforests, scrub forests, wet and dry deciduous forests and mangroves. The Bengal tiger is the national animal of India and Bangladesh. Their biome is the tropical rainforest. I will be talking about the Southeast Asia Bengal tiger. 3. The boundaries of this ecosystem would be all the locations around Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, and Southern Tibet. Bengal tigers live in tropical rainforests. 4. Bengal tigers are an endangered species. The current population of wild Bengal tigers in the Indian subcontinent is around 1300 - 1500. Which is less than half of the previous estimation of 3000 - 4500 tigers. The average humidity is between 77% and 88% and the rainfall is usually more than 100 inches a year. Usually there is a short season where is rains less.
