Being able to learn what is expected from an employee with his or her boss and how to work with his or her colleagues. Being able to wake up and go to work every day and be there on time, not late. The feeling of having the first paycheck and having extra spending money to use when needed. These are the reasons a part-time job would benefit anyone. The first benefit of having a part-time job is being able to learn what is expected from an employee with a boss and how to work with his or her colleagues. When I had my interview for the job, I was nervous. Before I had a part-time job, I didn’t know what to expect from a boss or how my colleagues would react around or towards me. Once, I got the part-time job, I was a quick study on what to do when I sign in and until I sign out for the day. My colleagues were easy to get along with; because they were in the same position I was in. When I first started working there, my colleagues were the people who helped me and showed me how to do my job because I didn’t know how to do it at first. I learned how to clean up, take people orders, and the system of collecting money and storing it in the cash register. The second benefit of having a part-time job is being able to get up and go to work on time every day. When I first got the job, I was excited to go to work every single day and wanted to do the job I was supposed to do that day. After a while, I started to get tired of waking up every day and knowing I had to go to work later in the day. I was thinking about quitting and not working again. I was disciplined enough to keep getting up and going to my job and not complaining about going to work every day the job became a daily routine to me.
