They could also hold an event such as a training camp day, where the kids could learn basic skills from famous professional tennis players. They could also use sponsorship by brands commonly loved by youth, whether it be a clothing brand, TV show, or movie. There are many promotional activities that Prince can use to target recreational and junior players, but they must first do their research and decide what the needs and wants of their target markets
One is of a team competing and one of individuals competing. In this way wrestling gives you a unique situation to teach many of the above values. We try to use different strategies to help our wrestlers learn these characteristics or values. From the policies that we set to the different activities we do throughout the year. The first way in which we try teach these traits is too model these behaviors to the kids in my program to the best of my ability.
The amount of advertising of tennis has grown and it has allowed more consumers to take on the sport and sometimes have these consumers pursue much more than just playing through teaching. According to the vice president of Prince Sports, Linda Glassel, there has been “a dramatic change in the media to reach consumers.” Prince Sports always “stays ahead of the curve” so that they can beat every other company who also sells tennis racquets. One of the activities that Prince Sports uses as far as promotion goes is when they hold their Teaching Pro Program. “These sponsored teaching pros receive all the latest production information, demo racquets, and equipment from Prince.” Another activity that Prince Sports can utilize in the United States to promote tennis playing is through training camps or summer camps for anyone who is interested in the sport. With more and more people becoming interested in the sport, these camps would be beneficial as far as doing more than just piquing the interest of the players.
Gym class offers countless benefits that enhance not just the body, but the mind and soul as well. It is a vital part of a child’s education. COLLEGE Following a very successful high school running career both in Cross Country and Track, I now faced the hardest decision that every high school senior must face; what college am I going to attend? Like many fellow students I was worried about how I was going to be able to afford to go to any college. However, luckily for me, because I had excelled as one of the top runners in the state so I had offers from numerous colleges from around the country, most of which were offering athletic scholarships that would pay for most, if not all of the cost. After months of deciding and waiting, I finally decided that I would be attending Stanford University and run for Ellis McMurphy. As I pulled into the main driveway of the campus on an early July morning, I was on my way towards their track for the first official practice of the cross-country season.
Curriculum Model Position Paper Nate Burk Kinesiology 305 December 11, 2014 “A student-centered learning environment is characterized by high levels of student engagement and empowerment so that students become central to the learning process” (Richards & Levesque-Bristol, 2014). This would be my ideal setting for my physical education class. I want my students to inspire the curriculum, because if they are not interested in it or if it is not beneficial to them they will not benefit from my class. I will be an adapted physical education teacher so I could be working with children from the preschool level all the way up to high school. Having such a wide range of ages to work with will allow me to see the children
Try outs for the varsity tennis team are getting closer and closer. The anticipation for the start of the season is very high. The head coach’s daughter, Mary Turner, will be starting her second high school season with Lakeshore High. “I’m excited to get to work with my daughter again. It was awesome last year and I’m sure it will continue to grow our mother-daughter bond even more,” Tonya Turner, head coach, said.
This goal can be measured by comparing it to the SMART goal methodology we discussed in class. SMART stands for specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely. This goal is specific because they must train and perform better each day to win the championship in the few weeks they had. It is measurable since they check each person’s time and how they progress, if one runner’s time doesn’t make it they get cut out of the top 7. Coach Newton always tells the boys however fast you run, run faster.
NBA owners spend millions of dollars annually on scouting and on the development of young prospective basketball players. Increasing the age requirement, will allow college basketball coaches another year to work with these players. This also, gives their scouts an additional year to study these players, translating to more information on the investment rather than taking chances on a player’s right out of high school. Allowing these colleges to spend an extra year with players, should reduce the NBA's responsibility of the development of young players. Providing scouts with an additional year, should assist in investing in the right players.
Playing sports, preferably soccer, helped me the build confidence I needed to try out for competitive soccer teams around San Diego. Sports were important where I grew up. If you didn’t know how to play a sport, you would have a hard time making friends. Almost every kid in my block knew how to play some sport whether its soccer, basketball, football, or even badminton. It has helped defined me because without sports I wouldn’t know where I’d be.
