It is a lesson that needs to be taught not only to children under the age of five, but to people of all ages because in its wisdom and clever verse it encourages the reader (or listener) to pursue life with energy and optimism. Dr. Suess is one of the best-loved children’s book writers of the twentieth century. Yet, teens and adults enjoy his books every bit as much as young children, perhaps even more. Dr. Suess wrote many books and Oh, the Places You’ll Go! is not one of the more popular or best known among them.
Looks Can Be Deceiving People always try to look for the best in each other, but subconsciously we are judging them. It is a natural instinct we use to ensure our own survival, as Edwin Rolfe and Lester Fuller said “Don’t Judge a book by its cover”. Soon people in the story “The Possibility of Evil” by Shirley Jackson, will know to think twice. The story starts with Mrs. Adela Strangeworth, a friendly old lady who loves her home for being the sweet little town it is. She is a respected member of the community, beloved by everyone.
Adam’s love and affection for Amy was obvious. “God, but Amy Hertz was beautiful to watch when she was doing a number” (60). Although there is obvious evidence of Adam loving Amy, there is not a thing that shows Amy loves Adam. The relationship flows very nicely, but is very complex. Robert Cormier does a phenomenal job writing this amazing story about a boy on his bike.
Anthony Socci 3 White 11/28/08 Biography: Final Draft Da’dooch Socci “A day without laughter is a day wasted” This was John Michael Socci’s favorite philosophy that he lived by on an everyday basis. My interview with his sister Jenifer Socci, was a great privilege for myself. She is very wise, a remarkable memory and the smartest woman I know. This interview turned out to be more informative than I could’ve hoped for. Da’dooch was always fond of telling stories or explaining those who have passed.
‘Maybe you better go along to your own house now. We don’t want no trouble’ this shows that the workers were cautious of being caught with Curley’s wife and sent her on her way to avoid conflict. Curley treasures his wife and if she were caught in any trouble, even if it was her fault, she’d be seen as innocent. Finally, Steinbeck also presents women as attractive and confident. The quotes ‘If he ain’t, I better look someplace else, she said playfully’ and ‘Hi, Good-lookin’.’ These show all the workers think Curley’s wife is attractive and she knows this, so she’s being confident with them.
Many couples end up deciding that the woman and the children will take the males last name, because that it just how it has always been and why change the tradition. Many women find that having the same last name as their husband helps them feel more like a family, and a new name is an important symbol of the journey they are taking together. Personally, when I get married, I will gladly change my last name to whatever my husband happens to be, because following the tradition is important to me. Williamson gave her own experience on how not following tradition can affect everyone in the family when she stated “He’d just delivered the happiest news of his mother’s life - that her first grandchild had been born and followed up with a sucker punch to the heart. They don’t easily give up on what they want or believe in. When Skeeter learns that Aibeleen’s son Treelore writing a book about his experiences inspires Skeeter to write a book that will show the help points of view. Many maids agreed to participate and we see that she doesn’t give up until the book it’s published. Even though there is times she feels like giving up it’s the best thing to do, but, she doesn’t. She is very persistent.

To some people it means more than anything, but to some it has not meaning or concept. The ones who hold their integrity high are what most consider the good people in this world, and just the opposite is true for those others that do not care for even their own integrity. Ours heroes can change in our mind as we get older with the inclusion of new ones or exclusion of others. When I was a child heroes like Spiderman and Superman occupied my mind. As I started to age I started to look for real life heroes.
